Through the Incident Management Team, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte conducted an inspection of the Municipal Isolation Units and Barangay Isolation Units from 12 municipalities on August 24-25, 2021.
Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Officer, Ms. Eugenie P. Pusing, and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, Ms. Annabelle S. Mendez led the inspection to the municipalities of Tubod, Kolambugan, Maigo, Bacolod, Kauswagan, Linamon, Baroy, Lala, Kapatagan, Sapad, SND, and Magsaysay.
With the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province, the PGLDN, headed by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, recognizes the lead role of local government units (LGUs) in the prevention, mitigation, preparedness for, and containment of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak at the local level. Thus, it is important that all municipalities have their functional isolation units just in case the COVID surge turns worse and hospitals and main isolation units overflow with symptomatic and asymptomatic patients.
With the cooperation of each municipalities’ Rural Health Unit, the IMT headed by Incident Commander Mr. Lyndon G. Calica, was able to evaluate each MIU and BIUs during their visit and was able to find out what was lacking and what needs to be done to improve the quarantine facilities to make them more conducive in preventing the spread of infection or contamination.
Governor Angging is keen on intensifying the province’s readiness and mitigation of the virus, and until the COVID-19 pandemic is over, the PGLDN will continue to provide the people with infrastructure, livelihood, and health support. PIO-LDN
