The Provincial Development Council of Lanao del Norte members convened for their 18th PDC meeting through a virtual platform. Governor Imelda’ Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo presided over the first-ever virtual PDC meeting at the Governor’s Conference room, Pigcarangan, Tubod, on August 11, 2021, together with the 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo.
 
In her opening statement, Governor Angging extends her heartfelt appreciation to all Local Chief Executives and development partners in the NGO’s sectors for their constant support to the Province of Lanao del Norte, most importantly during adversity.
 
The meeting agenda comprises the discussion regarding the updated Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) for 2020-2022 and the realignment of the Project on the concreting of Malingao Bualan Provincial Road under the 20% Development fund 2020 Utilization Program of PGLDN. During the discussion, the council had approved to adopt the PCIP 2020-2025 and the proposed realignment of the Project for the concreting of Malingao Bualan Provincial Road.
As the direct beneficiary of such a program, Mayor Leoncio Bagol of the Municipality of Tubod expresses his genuine gratitude to the support of the council, especially to the PGLDN headed by Governor Angging, and to the proactive actions of Congressman Khalid Dimaporo, for the betterment of his people and municipality.
 
One of the most important topics that were also discussed in the meeting was the Balik Probinsya, Balik Pag-asa Program. It is a program of the National Government intended for those low-income families staying permanently or long-time residents of Metro Manila / NCR who want to return to their respective provinces to be given new hope to start and have a new job.
 
Accordingly, as a BP2 pilot project in the whole Mindanao, Bagong Pag-asa Organic Village in Kauswagan was established. Apparently, due to some circumstances, the houses for the project are not yet fully completed. With this, Congressman Khalid Dimaporo suggested passing a resolution to conduct a special meeting concerning it, together with the Municipality Host, contractors, and other National Line Agencies committed for the said project.
 
“We need to exert extra focus on this, for it is a pilot project. We should ensure to provide adequate social services, resources, and opportunities to all beneficiaries. Through, pieces of training let us not only just give them the wealth, rather teach them how to earn to upscale their lives for their lifetime use”, but Governor Angging also said.
 
On the other hand, the meeting also paved a way to discuss the Lanao del Norte PCA -VISION, MISSION, GOALS, and its Priority Agenda. Present also in the meeting, together with Governor Nagging, was Ms. Anecita Lendio of the council’s Secretariat and her staff.
 
In his statement, Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo of the 2nd District emphasized the importance of imparting good manners and proper conduct to our youths. With good values, we can sustain peace and order in the province and promote development and success despite all struggles in these challenging times. Governor Angging appeals to all the Mayors for their support in the global vaccination program.
 
The Chief Executive also reminded everyone, most notably the PNP and all men in uniform, to not be complacent and still follow strictly health standard protocols.
