The Provincial Health Office (PHO), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), recently celebrated World Blood Donor Day (WBDD) with the theme: “Give blood and keep the world beating”.
This activity aims to raise awareness of the need for blood, especially here in the province of Lanao del Norte. Despite the severe challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, giving blood remains an essential service.
Headed by the Provincial Health office, Dr. Marujeta Isabel Opamen, the PHO and PRC collected multiple bags from 26 brave donors, including some AFP and PNP officers. The staff also assured the observance of strict health protocols during blood donation.
Governor Angging calls for the people to do the heroic act of voluntary blood donation every three months for it does not only benefit oneself but for the people who needed it most. PIO-LDN
