June 4, 2021, marks the 62nd Araw ng Lanao del Norte. During this very day, 62 years ago, the Province of Lanao was separated into two separate entities, Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte.
To celebrate this very momentous day, despite the still ongoing pandemic, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, with its employees and department heads, joined the Holy Mass held at the Catholic Church of San Isidro Labrador, Municipality of Tubod that was held in the early morning of July 4th.
This is to give thanks to the Holy Creator for keeping our Province safe – protecting us people from the deadly Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and for the guidance and wisdom that He has bestowed to the leaders of the Provincial Government headed by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo.
The Mass was lead by Reverend Father Enrique Lacostales.
Governor Angging, in her video message in observance of the founding anniversary, expressed her sincerest gratitude to the people of the Province of Lanao del Norte for the continuous cooperation and understanding of the decisions and actions taken in the fight against COVID-19, as well as to the programs, projects, and activities initiated by the Provincial Government in partnership with national line agencies like the AFP, BFP, DILG, and the DOH; as well as the cooperation and initiatives of the LGUs of the province.
Since the Provinces’ foundation, before the pandemic, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte annually prepares activities, showcasing the unique culture and tradition of the Province of Lanao del Norte that people treasured for years; as well as the continued harmonious coexistence between the Muslims and Christians as a basic foundation in attaining lasting peace and development.
Governor Angging, the continued support from the Offices of the 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and the father of peace and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo and in coordination with the Office of Provincial Administrator Ms Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, and the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan chaired by Vice Governor Maria Cristina ‘Cristy’ N. Atay is always thinking of ways to alleviate the lives of the people as well as to keep the peoples spirit high despite the adversities faced by our province, Lanao del Norte, “The Land of Beauty and Bounty”.
