Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo joined the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as they conducted a virtual activity entitled ESTORYA TA, BAKUNA: CONVERSATIONS ON THE UPDATES, ISSUES AND CONCERNS AND WAYS FORWARD ON THE VACCINATION PROGRAM.
 
Governor Annging attentively listened to the entire discussion and forums together with the Acting Head of the Provincial Health Office Dra. Marujeta Isabel Opamen, Dra. Grace Joy Yañez, and Ms. Abeliza Manzano of the PDRMMO, at the Governor’s Conference Room Gov. Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod via an online platform.
 
The DILG, spearheaded by Provincial Director Bruce Colao successfully organized the virtual conference as a collaborative effort to provide additional information and encouragements regarding the National Vaccination Program.
 
In his opening message, Director Colao extends his genuine appreciation to the active participation of the Provincial Chief Executive, Municipal Mayors and Barangay Officials including the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs, Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs), and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) including the Provincial Administration Office and other responsible offices/agencies.
 
As she delivered her inspirational message, Governor Angging emphasized the importance of vaccines and the essentiality of spreading factual information rather than false rumors and negativities.
“Though the vaccines are not the cure of the COVID-19, these will serve as an additional level of protection and prevention. In addition, having inoculated is a great service to yourself, your children, your co-workers, and your community”, Governor Angging added.
 
The meeting became more meaningful for it was also joined by the Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe of the DILG-X, Regional Director Jose R. Llacuna of DOH-X, Dr. Ellenietta HMV Gamolo and Dr. Jovette Guinal.
 
Primarily, Dr. Guinal of the DOH presented the vaccination programs that include comparative data concerning the targets, turn-outs, issues, and concerns in the vaccination program. In addition, Dr. Guinal also showed the overall coverage of those who completed the 2nd Dose of the vaccine (A1=69.70%, A2=8.09% & A3=7.77%) in the province of Lanao del Norte as of June 26, 2021. On the other hand, Atty. Alfons Janssen Marcera, the Vice Mayor of Bacolod, also shared their points regarding the initiatives and efforts of the LGU in providing extra miles of support in the vaccination program.
 
Regional Director Agabe also emphasized to the participants the significance of each role in the community to attain herd immunity. Factors that hinder the vaccination campaign should be adequately and directly addressed to continue the ongoing implementation of global immunization.
 
The DOH-X Regional Director also expresses his assurance to Governor Angging and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte for their continuous support in providing various evocative programs to uplift the people’s lives in the province.
 
Governor Angging, together with Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo of the 1st District and Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo of the 2nd District, are constantly appealing for the open-mindedness and cooperation of everyone in our quest for global immunization.
 
“All of us play a vital role in this battle, and so I urge everyone to do their part. However, we can only overcome this challenge only if we stand together to confront our common enemy, the vicious Coronavirus,” Governor Angging said.
