Through the Provincial Health Office, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte celebrated the month of June as National Kidney Month and conducted a Renal Disease Control Prevention Program by offering free blood pressure taking and urine screening among PGLDN employees starting June 23, 2021.
The said activity aims to raise awareness of Chronic Kidney Diseases among the constituents of Lanao del Norte. Furthermore, the early recognition, detection, and understanding of renal diseases among the PGLDN employees will prevent and control kidney diseases and eventually reduce the probability of having complications from COVID-19.
PHO staff go from one department to another and cater 40 employees every morning for the taking of PB and the distribution of vials for the urine samples. The urine screening includes physical, chemical, and microscopic examinations to detect and/or measure several substances in the urine such as pH, Leukocyte esterase, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Bilirubin, Glucose, Ketone, Protein and Blood count of a tested individual.
