The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte – Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), through the Department of Agriculture’s National Livestock Program, conducted a Launching and Distribution Program of Free Range Chicken under the Expanded Livestock and Poultry and Livelihood Project for COVID 19 Response recently held at the DA Compound, Pigcarangan, Tubod.
 
A total of 106 beneficiaries from the Municipalities of Tubod, Baroy and Kapatagan received free-range chicken (FRC) composed of 5 females and 1 male. In addition, each chosen beneficiary also received a 10kg-pack of rice as Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo’s counterpart to the project.
 
In response to the COVID-19, the Department of Agriculture sees the need to help the people that are heavily affected by the pandemic. Therefore, in coordination with the Local Government Units (LGUs), they identified the cooperatives/ associations/ peoples organizations ‘Selected Beneficiaries’ in their jurisdiction qualified for the project. The beneficiaries were composed of sikad drivers and PWDs.
 
Dr. Fritzie P. Provido, the Provincial Veterinarian, earnestly thanked the Department of Agriculture for including the Province of Lanao del Norte in the National Livestock Program. She also pledged her support to the selected beneficiaries and recipients in their technical and other related needs in maintaining the health and productivity of their animals.
 
Governor Angging is one with the Department of Agriculture and the Provincial Veterinary Office in finding various ways to offer different livelihood programs that can help alleviate the lives of the constituents, reduce hunger, and increase the level of productivity and availability of food supply in the Province of Lanao del Norte, ‘The Land of beauty and Bounty’.
