The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte led by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), started the release of wages under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating mga Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program with proper implementation of standard health procedures at the Macapagal Training Center, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

Over 296 beneficiaries from the different municipalities received ₱ 6,000 cash as wages for their 16-days work.
This program of the government mainly aims to provide assistance to those displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers through engaging them to render service and work at their own homes or communities, to expand government’s support to those who have lost their jobs due to the health crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The turnover cash assistance to the 296 beneficiaries has a total amount of 2,375,000, in which the 1,900,000 were funded by the DOLE, and the 475,000 is the PGLDN 20% equity.

Governor Angging extends her genuine gratitude to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, especially Sen. Joel Villanueva and Bro. Eddie Villanueva for the continued support, particularly in allocating funds for the TUPAD in the province.
The TUPAD payout activity is facilitated by the PGLDN- PESO (Public Employment and Services Office) Designate Manager Ms. Evelyn Lopez, together with personnel from the Provincial Treasure’s Office from May 27-31, 2021.

On the other hand, Governor Angging earnestly encourages everyone to use the cash assistance wisely and to cooperate as not to be complacent, especially that there are some areas in the province that still have several active cases of COVID-19. The Provincial Chief Executive also reminded the beneficiaries of the importance of following the strict health protocols such as using face masks, face shields and maintaining social distancing at all times to contain the spread of the unseen enemy in the province of Lanao del Norte, ‘The Land of Beauty and Bounty.’ PIO-LDN
