The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte spearheaded by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo warmly welcomes the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPPAP)Undersecretary David B. Diciano, the Chair of Joint Normalization Division, together with Director Cesar de Mesa of PAyapa and MAsaganang PamayaNAn (PAMANA) and Director Farrah Grace Naparan of OPAPP and the Chief of Staff of Joint Normalization Division as they recently paid a visit at the Governor’s Conference Room, Gov. Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod.
 
Their visit became significantly meaningful, for it paved a way to discuss and present various strategic programs, activities, and even concerns regarding the normalization process. The OPAPP officials also gave several main points regarding the procedures and the role of LGUs in the Decommissioning of MILF Forces and Weapons.
As an advocate of peace and development, Governor Angging, together with the two Congressional offices of Lanao del Norte, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo of the First District, and Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo of the 2nd District, assure the OPAPP of their continued support of the PGLDN to intensify and accelerate the implementation of phases for normalization process.
 
The Normalization process is pursuant to Executive Order No. 79 of President Rodrigo Duterte to attain just and lasting peace and development in the region. In this regard, the MILF forces and weapons shall undergo a verification, validation, and decommissioning process to be conducted by the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB). All the Normalization Programs will cover six (6) recognized MILF camps, particularly Camp Bilal in Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur, Camp Omar ibn al-Khattab in Maguindanao, Camp Rajamuda in North Cotabato and Maguindanao, Camp Busrah Somiorang in Lanao del Sur, Camp Badre in Maguindanao and Camp Abubakar as-Siddique in Maguindanao and such other locations as may be identified by the GPH and the MILF Implementing Panels.
 
The meeting was also joined by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Hon. Achmad B. Taha, Atty. Mark Christopher Babor of the Provincial Legal Office, PCol Isaias C. Bacurnay the Provincial Director of the PNP-Lanao del Norte together with his men officials.
 
“This Normalization track is not easy; thus, it further needs our collaborative efforts to work as one and be part of the process regardless of any tribe or religion. We should not just let them withdraw their weapons, let us ensure to support and train them for their holistic development as civilians”, Governor Angging said. PIO-LDN
