In order to help the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) create, access, and maximize their ‘business’ online presence,’ The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the Provincial Tourism Office, spearheaded a Seminar-Workshop entitled “HARNESSING SOCIAL MEDIA TO EXPAND YOUR BUSINESS” for Accommodation and Dining Facilities Operators and Tourism Stakeholders on April 28, 2021, held at the Macapagal Training Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod.

Various MSMEs joined the activity all over the province, some of which are new to the business and just began establishing their brand, like the Uptown Tavern from Malingao Tubod and the operator of Damak Beach in SND.
“Through this seminar, you will learn a lot as we will do our best to equip you with relevant tools and skills in increasing your social media presence and utilize it in widening your reach and gaining more sales.” Ms. Alerma Yorong-Montañez, the OIC Provincial Tourism Officer, said.

Present during the seminar was Ms. Sheena May M. Maraon, the Project Development Officer I of the Provincial Cooperative Office and the Tourism Receptionists of the Tourism Office to discuss topics and ideas like the Importance of Social Media for Business, the Basic of Social Media, how to use Canva, Content Planning & Strategy, and Online Safety & Protection.

“Social Media allows you to connect with your CURRENT and POTENTIAL customers wherever they are,” Ms. Maraon said in her discussion about the Importance of Social Media.
Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo fully supports the efforts of the Tourism Office in helping the MSMEs of the province effectively participate in the digital economy and reach a broader market even during this time of the pandemic. PIO-LDN
