The Members of the Provincial Development Council (PDC) of Lanao del Norte convened on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the Multi-Purpose Building, Capitol Grounds, Tubod, to present and tackle several implemented programs as well as plans for the continuous development of the province for the year 2021.
 
The meeting was hosted by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) headed by Engr. Anecita Lendio.
On behalf of the Chief Executive, Governor Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo whose currently attending an important emergency meeting, the 17th PDC Meeting was presided by Vice-Governor Maria Cristina Atay and was joined by the two District Representatives of the province, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo of the 1st District and Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo of the 2nd District.
 
The PDC members were also joined by the NGCP Construction Projects Senior Manager Planning and Engineering Mr. Pedro Moran, NGCP OIC- Supervisor Ms. Vilma Gumera, Dr. Jovette Guinal from DOH 10, and Ms. Linda Canguit of the DSWD 10.
 
During the conference, the PPDO presented the 2021 Supplemental AIP which showcases several programs, projects, and activities for this year. Under the General Fund, they have presented 19 PPA’s to the council which includes General Administration & Support Services, Procurement of COVID-19 Medical Supplies while there are 21 PPA’s proposed that comprises different livelihood, infrastructures, employment, medical and other purposeful assistance which will be implemented starting July 2021 until December 2022. Consequently, the Council passed the proposed resolution adopting and approving the Supplemental Annual Investment Program for CY 2021.
 
After series of consultations and planning, the PPDO through Engr. Lendio, also presented to the Council Members the crafted ‘Vision 2040’ for the province which is anchored on the long-term national and regional visions. With the great aspiration to further develop the economy, agriculture, and tourism in the province, the council endorsed and passed the resolution Adopting and Approving the Vision 2040 of the Province of Lanao del Norte stating:
“A sustainably developed agri-fishery and eco-cultural-sports tourism destination in a community of God-loving, resilient and socially cohesive people with local governance anchored on inclusive growth.”
 
On the other hand, during the meeting, the members of the council unanimously endorsed also the resolution adopting the IAEECC Resolution No. 1 series of 2020 for implementation. The Inter-Agency Energy Efficiency and Conservation Committee (IAEECC) was organized to evaluate and approve government EEC projects and to provide strategic direction in Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) implementation.
 
Furthermore, Mr. Moran briefly presented during the conference the NGCP Plans and Programs in line with their Commercial Operations, System Integration, and Trial Operation. For the information of the province and the constituents, Cong. Khalid deliberately asked the NGCP team for a detailed map as to the exact sites/location of those transmission powers they have established inside Lanao del Norte.
 
“I hope that the NGCP will support and cooperate with the Provincial Government and the LGUs. As a development partner, we’re all asking your right information and coordination. We must help each other in providing comprehensive, reliable, and effective service to the people” Cong. Khalid added.
 
Cong. Abdullah of the 2nd District appealed also to the NGCP team present in the meeting, to support the province attain and ensure a correct balance of supply and demand of electricity in the province.
 
In addition, Dr. Guinal from DOH 10 presented a series of activities they have conducted relative to the COVID-19 Vaccination in the province. Figuratively Dr. Guinal stated that there is a total of 2129 vaccinated individuals (SINOVAC & AZTRAZENICA) in the province as of this moment.
 
The meeting also includes the presentation of Road Projects in the province, which was presented by the Engr. Marietta Borillo of the PEO.
 
Furthermore, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) presented to the council their various programs and project for the province, Cong. Abdullah intentionally challenged the office to intensify the campaign against illegal logging to protect the people and natural resources in the province of Lanao del Norte. PIO-LDN
