Governor Angging genuinely appreciates the efforts of the Provincial Agriculture’s Office through the initiative of Ms. Letecia Ditucalan and the constant support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan chaired by Vice Governor Maria Cristy Atay, in proactively executing different programs for the Fish Sanctuaries in the province.
Additionally, Governor Annging asked the help of every association to be more responsible with the materials entrusted to them while taking good care with our ocean and sincerely appealed to everyone to still follow standard health protocols to keep themselves and their family safe from the unseen enemy, the COVID-19.
“The main means of livelihood in our province is from agriculture and fishing. However, it is sad to say that nowadays, our oceans are getting shallower compared to before due to soil erosions and irresponsible garbage disposal of many people. Our sea became more polluted which is very alarming, for it may affect our food consumption in the future and even our health. With that, we need to work all together to protect our environment and our source of living”, Governor Angging said.
As the Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Hon. Reinario Bihag was also present in the remarkable event wherein he encourages all the fishing associations to constantly support all the activities of the Provincial Government and to be more accountable in managing their organization to sustain and achieve success.
Moreover, Ms. Ditucalan also challenged all the fishermen in her message stating that through the help of the government in renovating the fish sanctuaries, they can exponentially increase the supply of fishes 5 times in the province to meet the demand of every individual in the future. In line with that, she also extends her sincere gratitude to the incessant support of the PGLDN through Governor Angging together with the two active District Representatives, Congressman Mohalid Khalid Q. Dimaporo of the 1st district and Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo, the father of the province and the Congressman of the 2nd District of Lanao del Norte.
