
In line with the Provincial Government’s foregoing actions to curtail the transmission of COVID-19 in the province, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) recently convened for their 1st Quarter Meeting for the year 2021 held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Capitol Ground, Pigcarangan, Tubod.
To be equipped with additional information concerning the activities related to COVID-19 last year, the Head of the PDRRMO Ms. Abeliza Manzano presented the 5% Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (LDRRMF) Utilization Report wherein the 30% was taken to the Quick Response Fund and the 70% was utilized to fund programs and projects of the Thematic Areas needed to address.
The undertaking and accomplishment report of the four (4) thematic areas of Prevention and mitigation, Preparedness program, Relief & Response, and Recovery & Rehabilitation program were also discussed in the conference.
Figuratively, the presentation mirrored the various projects, programs, and activities that have been successfully executed. These merely subjected that the PDRRMC was able to establish various ordinances and venture for COVID-19 in 2020 such as the establishment of Molecular Laboratory and isolation facilities that alleviate the lives of every individual in the province amid this pandemic.
Moreover, DILG Provincial Director Bruce Colao expressed his honest concern regarding the new IATF Resolution No. 103 Series of 2021 which includes the mandate to suspend cockfight and cockpit operations even to those areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MCQ). With this, Dir. Colao also assures the council for their active coordination and monitoring with the PDRRMO regarding the newly released directive in line with the existing protocols that the Provincial Government has.
For the COVID-19 updates, Dr. Marujeta Opamen, the Head of the Provincial Health Office, briefly presented the status of the COVID-19 mainly focused on the vaccination activity wherein as of this moment the total number of vaccinated frontliners in Lanao del Norte was 2356. Dr. Opamen also encouraged everyone to support the vaccination process to gain an additional shield against the virus.
As an extra preventative measure, Governor Angging also urged everybody to have vaccinated for it cannot only provide self-protection but also give our family and community supplementary security.
“Even though we already have these COVID-19 vaccines, I am reminding and appealing to everyone to still follow standard health protocols. Wearing of face masks and face shields is a must. We should continue to closely monitor every area to avoid the spread of the virus here in our province.” Governor Angging said.
During the meeting, Atty. Mark Cristopher Babor briefly discussed the provisions and protocols under the Provincial Ordinance No. 03-2021 of the province in consonance to the IATF Resolution. In his discussion, Atty. Babor highlighted the guidelines following the five main classifications of travelers; Resident, Non-Resident, Domestic Tourist, Foreign Tourist, and Passersby.
In the said meeting, Governor Angging received a Plaque of Appreciation from the Regional Peace and Order Council – DILG R10 through Director Colao, to recognize her invaluable support to the full operation of the RTF-ELCAC X Operations and RPOC X Coordinating Center.
“I am very honored to receive this kind of recognition consequently I just want to extend my genuine gratitude to the AFP and all uniformed personnel for their incessant support to the Provincial Government in sustaining Peace and Development in the province of Lanao del Norte. This plaque is for all of us. Let us continue to support each other to fully eliminate those threats to our security”, Governor Angging added.
