
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte headed by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo together with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region X represented by Engr. Harris Paporo graced the Turnover Ceremony of the project fund held at Barangay Bualan, Tubod, Lanao del Norte. It is intended for the Subprojects of Bualan Agrarian Reform Community Cooperative (BARCOCO) named the Banana Cardaba Trading & Banana Flour Processing and Marketing.
The turnover ceremony was collectively led by Barangay Captain Florencio Duterte with the BARCOCO Chairman Isidro L. Carin and Manager Juliet Cagbabanua. In his welcome remarks, Brgy. Capt. Duterte extends his sincere gratitude to the DA and the PGLDN through Governor Angging for their unending assistance for the continuous development of their barangay.
The said project is under the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) and the turned over fund has a total amount of P2,816,422.256 with P2,253, 137.806 funded by the PRDP & DA Loan proceeds and P563,284.45 as the 20% counterpart of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte.
Governor Angging genuinely expressed her appreciation to the Department of Agriculture 10 and the active members of BARCOCO for their initiative and support in making this project possible. Moreover, the governor reminded the Chairman and the members of the cooperative to continue helping each other despite the difficulties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic and to be more responsible in handling the capital entrusted to them.
“With your capabilities and cooperation, I urge you to maintain a strong bond with one another to sustain the development and to attain the goals of your projects. As we perform our daily tasks, I am sincerely hoping that you will still follow the standard health protocols in order to keep ourselves safe from COVID 19”, Governor Angging added.
Likewise, Vice Governor Maria Cristy N. Atay emphasized to the group the value of having unity and respect especially in managing a cooperative. Furthermore, she also asked the community for their continuous support to the government officials in order to extend service to enliven the quality of life of every individual in the province.
The fund for this project will be intended for the main components of it such as Hauling/Delivery Vehicle, Weighing scales, mechanical dryers, raw materials, and other necessary supplies needed for the realization of this development plan.
