In observance of the World Consumer Rights Day and International Women’s Month, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte joined the coastal clean-up drive spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industries (DTI)-LDN, recently conducted at RCMS, Poblacion, Municipality of Tubod.
With the theme “Tackling Plastic Pollution”, DTI staff, including PGLDN employees and department heads started the clean-up drive at exactly 6 AM and collected sacks-full of plastic wastes along the shore by 8 AM.
This kind of activity aims to encourage Lanao del Norte consumers to be mindful of their consumption habits to minimize plastic use and to follow recycling guidelines to properly dispose plastic wastes. This simple act will not only save the nature but also the people who inhabit it.
Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo deeply appreciates the effort of the DTI Lanao del Norte headed by Regional Director Ruel B. Paclipan for always thinking of ways to help the people and for always including the PGLDN in their plans.
“As we continue to see the effects of the global COVID19 pandemic, let us not forget to take care of our environment too. The proper disposal of our garbage will go a long way, let us help one another”, Governor Angging said. PIO-LDN
