Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo together with Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, convened with the Department of Health – Region 10 representatives (DOH-10) in launching the first vaccination program recently held at Kapatagan Provincial Hospital. The first shipment of Sinovac vaccines arrived last March 6, 2021, and the province of Lanao del Norte received a total of 374 vaccines and inoculated the healthcare providers of the three (3) provincial hospitals in the province namely the Lanao Norte Provincial Hospital in Baroy, Kolambugan Provincial Hospital and the Kapatagan Provincial Hospital.
 
Inspired by its slogan “RESBAKUNA: Kasangga ng Bida”, the DOH through Dr. Cheryl S. Balane, the Division Chief of the Regulations, Licensing and Enforcement Division, expressed their gratitude to Governor Angging and the two District Representatives for their unwavering support for this global vaccination.
 
For the first day of inoculation, there were 130 target healthcare workers who received vaccination administered by the DOH-10 Team. Among those recipients was Dr. Shoraynah A. Tucal, the Chief of Hospital of LNPH.
 
First District Congressman Khalid during his speech expressed his genuine appreciation to the DOH and the National Government for their incessant support to acquire those vaccines for the welfare of the people. In his message, the active Congressman encourages the media and all the people of this province to stop spreading fake news that prejudice any type or brand of vaccines.
 
Considering the risks that our healthcare workers face everyday just to give service to the people there is really a need for them to be vaccinated.
Furthermore, Governor Angging extends her gratefulness to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and DOH officials for their initiative and efforts in obtaining the vaccines as an additional preventative measure to fight against COVID 19. Governor Angging also reminded each Local Government Units (LGU’s) to still follow health protocols.
 
“This vaccination does not mark as an end of our fight against COVID 19, but this is just a beginning. We should not be all confident and overlook things. We should continue to observe health protocols for this is not the cure however this will give us additional protection from our invisible opponent, the coronavirus.” Governor Angging added.
 
Other key officials who witnessed the remarkable event were Vice Governor Cristy N. Atay, Board Member Harris Ali, KPH Chief of Hospital Dr. Remedios Fernandez, LNPH Chief of Hospital Dr. Shoraynah A. Tucal, Chief of Kolambugan Provincial Hospital Dr. Demetrio U. Opamen Jr, and Dr. Marujetta Opamen the Head of the Provincial Health Office.
 
The province of Lanao del Norte remained as a low-risk area for COVID 19, thus the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the leadership of Governor Angging is constantly requesting everyone to cooperate and help each other for us to be all safe from this pandemic. PIO-LDN
