The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the Provincial Health office in collaboration with the Department of Health Region X, conducted a full-scale simulation exercise of vaccination to showcase the provinces’ readiness for COVID-19 inoculation on Friday, March 5, 2021, held at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Gym, Pigcarangan, Tubod.
The activity was participated by the representatives of the different agencies in the province such as the Municipal Health Office (MHOs), Philhealth, Private/Public Hospitals, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Department of Education for them to witness and personally take part in the simulation exercise that is very vital for the success of the vaccination.
Provincial Administrator Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, on behalf of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, attended the program and in her message, expressed her appreciation to the National Government and the DOH for finding ways to bring the vaccines to the people and for giving Lanao del Norte a good share of the vaccines to make sure that the people can continue living with less fear.
“One year of being outcasted from the normalcy that we had is long enough. I encourage everyone that is here to shed a positive light to the programs that the DOH has in store for us. Healing as one, Preventing as one, and Coming Back as one. I hope that things will go smoothly”, Ms. Aminah said.
The Covid-19 vaccination (#RESBAKUNA) program prioritizes front-liners, senior citizens, and uniformed officers. During the simulation, series of procedures were undertaken starting from the registration, counseling, screening, actual vaccination, and post-vaccination for monitoring the effects of the vaccine and health conditions, among others.
To evaluate the readiness of the Provincial Health Workers, in attendance were Dr. Tristan Jediah V. Labitad, the DOH Local Health Systems and Development Cluster Head, Engr. Carmela Roa, the DOH Environmental and Occupational Health Cluster Head, and Ms. Crislucia Sazon, the DOH Health Education and Promotions Officer, and gave feedback and suggestions for a smoother inoculation process.
During the simulation, the participants represented their actual roles, responded as if in a real situation, and followed the step-by-step vaccination process in order to prepare themselves for the actual inoculation when the COVID19 vaccines arrive in the province.
Governor Angging is thankful to the DOH and the Provincial Health office headed by Dr. Marujita Isabel Opamen for the unparalleled dedication in serving the people of Lanao del Norte, “The Land of Beauty and Bounty”. PIO-LDN
