Marietta Borillo, conducted an exit conference for the validators of the Road Clearing Operation following the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2020-027 and 2020-145.

Subsequently, this memorandum states the continuance of the implementation of the Presidential Directive to Clear the Roads from illegal obstructions. Present also at the said conference was Ms. Sittie Aminah Q. Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator and Atty. Mark Christopher Babor of the Provincial Legal Office.

After thorough rationalization, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte passed the DILG assessment. The validation requisites are subdivided into 5 components; (1) the actual road clearing component, (2) ordinance component, (3) the conduct of inventory road obstructions, (4) implementation of displacement plan, and lastly (5) the creation of grievance mechanism. The evaluation period was between February 16 and March 2, 2021. To avoid any discrepancy and prejudice, the validation team was composed of respected officers coming from DILG, PNP, BFP, and CSO from Iligan City.

Following the Provincial Ordinance No.01 Series of 2020, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte is constantly urging and reminding the people to be more responsible and to cooperate in clearing illegal structures and constructions along with our provincial roads. It is important to note that this mandate is essential in widening the scope of our existing roads to avoid accidents and road traffic.

In line with the implementation of grievance mechanism, PGLDN put a Help Desk at the Ground floor near the entrance of the New Capitol Building, Pigcarangan and also created a Facebook page named ‘Provincial Road Clearing Operations’ to address the different concerns of the people regarding the road clearing project in the Province of Lanao del Norte.
