Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ QuibranzaDimaporo the Co-Chairperson of the Provincial Mining Regulatory Board together with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Director and PMRB Chairperson, conducted their regular meeting recently held at the VIP Lounge, Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod.
Mr. Niño Disierto of the Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) facilitated the meeting under the supervision of ENRO Head Secretariat, Mr. Ramon G. Serapio. Furthermore, the PMRB members present at the meeting were SP Member Maida Tawantawan, the Chairperson of the Committee of Environment Protection, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Atty. Mark Christopher Babor from the Provincial Legal Office; NGO Representative, Mrs. Blenda Desierto of the Paglingkawas Women’s Association and Mr. Jimmy Cabahug Jr.
The agenda of the meeting focused on the review and deliberation of CSAG and Quarry Permits for the Renewal and New Applications of several operators in Lanao del Norte.
As a recommendatory body, the Lanao del Norte PMRB evaluated the applications of twelve (12) Quarry operators to determine the main objectives and processes of their proposed plans and assessed the development of those previous operations for their renewal.
Governor Angging asked the help of each operator to firmly follow legal procedures and abide by whatever is stated in their agreement. In line with their proposals, Governor Angging and the members of the board urged also the operators to honestly perform their commitments to the community and to manifest transparent service.
Through this meeting, there are 5 new Quarry Applicants, 6 CSAG Renewal, and 1 ISAG Renewal was being endorsed to the office of the Provincial Governor for approval. LDN-PMRB is consistent in its responsibilities in sustaining the development of mineral resources governing mineral explorations and investments for the improvement of Lanao del Norte. PIO-LDN
