Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo cordially welcomes the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia from Davao City headed by Consul General Dicky Fabrian at the Governor’s Office, Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod.
 
Consul General Fabrian along with Consul Puguh Tedjobaskoro, Head of Protocol and Consular Affairs, and Vice Consul Nana Priatna, paid a courtesy call to Governor Angging to discuss potential collaboration of Indonesia and the province of Lanao del Norte in terms of trade and products as well as sharing effective strategies for quality education and eco-tourism.
 
In line with the request of the Consul General, the meeting was also joined by Mr. Franklyn L. Gonzales Jr., the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanao del Norte, Mr. Edilberto L. Oplenaria, the Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd and the DTI Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist, Mr. John Clifford M. Fernan.
 
In regards with education aspect, the Consul General offered possible scholarship programs for the youths in order for them to experience other culture and to learn more innovative methods. Secondly, ConGen Fabrian also expressed their willingness to participate to our festive and cultural events, to further showcase the products of both culture.
 
One of the main subjects raised in the meeting also was the idea of supporting the tourism of Lanao del Norte wherein they wanted to introduce the Province to other Indonesians as one of the majestic spots in the country that they can visit. There are still a lot of plans that the Province of Lanao del Norte and the Consulate of Indonesia wanted to accomplish hence, this is still the beginning. Additional formal meeting will be conducted to officially tie the knots between Indonesia and Lanao del Norte.
 
Governor Angging was very happy and honored to accommodate the guests on their first visit in the province. Moreover, as a token of appreciation the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte gave them a Coffee Table Book to let them appreciate more things about our province and understand how it became as the ‘Land of Beauty and Bounty’. On the other hand, Consul General Fabrian and his team gave Governor Angging a plaque of recognition, some Indonesian products, and an Indonesian pin to express their gratitude for the warm and genuine welcome of Governor Angging.
“We expect more interphasing with these officials for us to establish stronger partnership with them not only just for trading, agri-cultural, and tourism purposes but also in sustaining peace and order in the province of Lanao del Norte,” Governor Dimaporo explained. PIO-LDN
