Lanao del Norte Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo convened recently with the officials of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and discussed matters related to COVID 19 response and sustaining the stiff security procedure inside their Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Among the officials visited the office of the Governor Angging were LtGen. Corleto S. Vinluan Jr, the Commander of Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom), and BGen Antonio G. Nafarrete, Chairman of Government of the Philippines-Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (GPH-CCCH) and discussed matters pertaining peace and development effort of the province.
 
LtGen Vinluan and BGen Nafarrete were accompanied by the outgoing commander of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, BGen Facundo O. Palafox IV with the incoming Brigade Commander Col. Rey B. Alemania and LtCol. Alfonso Matias Jr., the commander of the 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion. Governor Angging shared to the troop officials especially regarding their quest to consistently working as front liners during this pandemic.
 
One important subject tackled was the first visit of Governor Angging at the camp MILF’s Commander Abdullah Makapaar or known as Commander Bravo. Likewise, Governor Angging gladly shared to everyone the remarkable meeting that intensifies the coordination of both parties in transcending the efforts to sustain peaceful and productive communities.
“Since our country is in the middle of waiting for the acquisition of vaccines for COVID 19, I want to ask your help or assistance in upholding the health protocol within the province of Lanao del Norte”, Governor Dimaporo lamented.
 
On the other hand, as the outgoing Brigade Commander, BGen Facundo Palafox extends his gratitude to the two District Representatives, Congressman Mohammad Khalid Dimaporo of the 1st District, Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo of the 2nd District, and to the mother of the province, Governor Angging for their unending support in ensuring peace and prosperity in the province.
 
The meeting adjourned as Governor Angging asked for the continuous cooperation of the incoming brigade commander Col. Alemania and all AFP in securing the peace and order as we aim for a further development of our province. The Western Mindao Command (WestMinCom) is one of the AFP’s side support commands in combating terrorism and insurgency in Mindanao while the joint Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities of the Government of the Philippines provide assistance in reconciliations and maintains peace-related functions.
