The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte led by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ QuibranzaDimaporo with multi-stakeholder representatives convened recently and tackled vital issues during the 16th Provincial Development Council (PDC) meeting at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Building, Capitol Grounds, Tubod.
 
The conduct of this meeting was spearheaded by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO). The said activity was attended by the Provincial Director of DILG, PD Bruce Colao, the Chief of Planning and Design Division of DPWH Region X Eng, Sabeniano Caliao Jr., DPWH- Project Engineer of Panguil Bay Bridge Project (PBBP), Eng. Anton Gimpaya, PBBP Project Manager/Korean Consultant Mr. Keunyung Kim, Board Member Atty. Macarupong Dibaratun, Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza-Dimaporo, and the two representatives of Lanao del Norte, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo of the 1st District and Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo.
 
The agenda of the recent PDC meeting was focused on the Update of Implemented Programs/Projects of the provincial government including those in the pipeline status, Endorsements of Priority Projects to the Regional Development Council (RDC), concerns about the Status of Lanao del Norte Road Network, and other matters including the roll-out of the COVID 19 National Vaccination Program.
 
Various agencies of the government also presented their programs and activities during the council meeting. PPDO also presented the 2020 Vision Assessment and Accomplishments’ of the province’s 30 year-vision wherein it was divided into four components namely the basic social services, economic services and development, infrastructure development, and development administration.
 
The presentation mainly showcases the progress of the province of Lanao del Norte particularly in the reduction of poverty ever since the 2020 Vision was crafted in the year 1992 during the administration of Congressman Abdullah as the Provincial Governor.
 
The PPDO also discussed to the council members the importance of “Vision 2040” as a continuation of materializing priority initiatives stipulated on the provincial development plan. Also discussed are the Local Road Management Plan and Local Road Network Development Plan for 2021-2025 emphasizing its processes and objectives which are to enrich its process and to effectively plan, design, implement and maintain the service of the local road network for sustainable development of the provincial roads.
 
The 16th PDC Meeting adopted and approved the Resolution for the Local Road Asset Management (LRAM) Plan of the Province of Lanao del Norte and endorsed the Local Road Network Development Plan (LRNDP) 2021-2025 of the Province of Lanao del Norte to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for Approval.
 
In addition, as for the information of the council concerning the Panguil Bay Bridge Project (PBBP), Mr. Keunyung Kim the PBBP Project Manager presented the updates as well as the design of the PBBP. Moreover, Engr. Caliao of DPWH Region 10 also gave updates and information regarding the Design and Cost of the Panguil Bay Bridge Rotunda.
 
Congressman Khalid stressed the significance of this project to the people of Lanao del Norte, thus he respectfully asked the DPWH and the Korean Consultant for their genuine cooperation and transparent service in this project. The meeting was also highlighted with the reports of the National Government Agencies (NGAs) such as DOLE, DOST, TESDA, DTI, and many others.
 
In regards to our quest for the acquisition of COVID 19 vaccines, several issues and concerns were also raised and answered during the meeting through the help of the Provincial Health Office Head Dr. Marujetta Opamen. Governor Angging urged the Municipal Mayors to secure an effective plan in the implementation of the global inoculation and encouraged them not to be complacent nor be agitate to the current situation with the vaccine for there is still a need to follow health protocols in order to keep everyone safe from all the uncertainties concerning COVID 19 vaccines.
