The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through Poverty Alleviation/Farm Tourism Consultant, Ms. Edelyn “Bulhing” dela Cruz and the Provincial Tourism Office headed by Ms. Alerma Grace Yorong conducted an Inter-Agency Meeting and site inspection at Lake Nunungan, Nunungan, Lanao del Norte on Thursday, January 29, 2020.
With her undying support in boosting the tourism of Lanao del Norte, Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo initiated forming an “Inter-Agency Team” who would formulate a certain plan for Nunungan especially in the area of tourism and agriculture.
The team visited Nunungan and inspected potential areas for developments of the town and to personally witness the breathtaking vast agricultural lands and the majestic Nunungan Lake.
The said event was participated by DILG Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao, Nunungan Municipal Mayor Hon. Marcos Mamay with Vice Mayor Hon. Jun R. Cawasa. Each one imparted remarkable ideas and recommendations for the betterment of the town and the future development and improvements of Lake Nunungan. Also present during the visit were Edgar Gillamacfrom Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), Ava Magnolia Yanchafrom Aikido Humanitarian Active Network (AHAN), Mr. LadiTabanao from the Business Sector, Philippine Information Agency, Media Partners, Stakeholders and other participating agencies to also share various ideas in boosting tourism in the municipality.
“I am very thankful to Governor Angging and the whole Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte for the unwavering support and for guiding us always in realizing our dreams for the future development of Nunungan”, Mayor Mamay said.
Lake Nunungan sits on the foot of Mt. Inayawan. With its well-preserved sceneries, surrounding farmlands, and wildlife, it is surely one of the emerging tourist destinations of Lanao del Norte, “The Land of Beauty and Bounty”. PIO-LDN
