The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) headed by Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao in collaboration with the provincial government of Lanao del Norte headed by Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo conducted a Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) meeting held at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Building, Pigcarangan, Tubod on Thursday, January 21, 2020.
 
The activity was also attended by representatives of regional and national government agencies including civil society organizations.
 
Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, the Chairperson of PTF-ELCAC expressed her gratitude for the hard work of the DILG headed by PD Colao, the 2nd Mechanized Brigade lead by Brigade Commander Facundo O. Palafox IV, PA, the Philippine National Police LDN headed by PCOL. Isaias A. Bacurnay, Jr., and other organizations like the DOLE, DTI, DSWD, TESDA, DPWH, DA, and OPPAP, for the unwavering support in initiating strategies that nurtures trust and confidence in the hearts and minds of the people of Lanao del Norte.
 
The main agenda of the meeting was to hear updates from the different government offices, assess the status of each project and activity, and propose future projects that can vitally help in the observance of EO No. 70. One of the projects of the DILG is the establishment of Halfway House for Lanao del Norte Former Rebels.
 
The Provincial Government also gave commitment updates and status of the Infrastructure, Economic, Social, and Administrative Developments. Governor Angging is strongly behind President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70 (S. 2018)
 
“Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework”, and encouraged every Local Government Units and other government agencies to work hard for the welfare and the best of interest of the people.
 
“The peace and order of Lanao del Norte have been satisfactorily sustained. The collaborative efforts of all government instrumentalities and civic organizations are essential in paving the way to attain lasting peace and development.” Governor Angging said.
 
Also present during the meeting were Provincial Vice Governor Maria Cristina Atay and the Father of Peace and Development in Lanao del Norte, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo.
