The Kahigala-an ni Hesus (KH) sa Dapit-Alim in coordination with the Interreligious Ministry of the Diocese of Iligan, the Ecumenical Churches, and the Provincial Interfaith Council of Lanao del Norte convened for an Interfaith Celebration Prayer, Solidarity, and Mission on December 23, 2020, at the KH Arkalim, Dapit-Alim, Tubod-Kolambugan.
 
Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo and the father of peace, unity, and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, joined the activity that promotes unity amongst Muslim and Christian residents through respect and understanding of each other’s religious belief.
 
With the current health crisis, Governor Angging is grateful to the people of Lanao del Norte for understanding the efforts of the provincial and municipal governments to curtail and contain the COVID-19 pandemic by implementing measures in line with the guidelines of the National Task Force and the health protocols of the Department of Health.
The people’s active participation and support positively contribute to the fight against COVID-19 that made Lanao del Norte a low-risk province in Region 10 after Camiguin, and added that the people care and love their family so much and following the health protocols is the best way of showing it.
 
Governor Angging also shared her thoughts on positive things brought about by the pandemic. While people are encouraged by the government to stay home, and the closure of business establishments, except the essentials, allows the family to spend more time together and also gave mother nature time to recuperate and heal itself.
 
The Governor made mention of the construction of the second Hemodialysis Center in the province. The facility will cater to indigent and less fortunate patients suffering from kidney failure and other kidney diseases.
 
With the increasing number of patients needing the type of medical facility, Governor Angging humbly appealed to Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ T. Go for financial assistance in establishing the second Hemodialysis Center in the province. The facility will be in Kapatagan Provincial Hospital. For now, the only Hemodialysis Center is in Lanao del Norte Provincial Hospital, Municipality of Baroy.
 
Governor Angging, Congressman Abdullah, and 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo are actively coordinating with the Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office to improve the quality of health care services in Lanao del Norte for the people’s welfare and best interest with the unwavering support of the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Municipal Mayors, and the Association of Private Hospitals.
 
Last November 24, Senator Bong Go formally opened the 1st Malasakit Center in the province. Governor Angging welcomes and expressed her gratitude to the good Senator, DBM Secretary Wendel Avisado, DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista, PCOO Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin M. Andanar, and Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino from the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) for actively responding to the requests of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte.
 
The goal of the Provincial Government and the Offices of the two District Representatives is to sustain peace and development by nurturing unity and respect between the Muslim and Christian residents paralleled with the delivery of quality and effective government services in partnership with the municipal governments, national government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and stakeholders.
 
2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo highlighted in his message the importance of respecting and understanding each other’s religious beliefs.
 
The Inter-Religious Council of Lanao del Norte is one of the esteemed partners of the Provincial Government and the two Congressional Districts of maintaining the harmonious coexistence of the Muslim and Christian residents.
 
Governor Angging and Congressman Abdullah are grateful to the leaders representing the different religious sectors in the Council and for helping build a peaceful province. In Lanao del Norte, Muslims and Christians are peacefully working together in building a better future for the children.
Congressman Abdullah reiterated the importance of education, as well as teaching good moral character to the children.
 
“To help secure the future of the province, it doesn’t only need bright children, but also children with good moral character. The Inter-Religious Council plays a significant role in molding today’s children in developing to become responsible, responsive, pro-active, and morally upright members of society,” the Congressman said.
