The Tourism Officer also shared a thoughtful message sharing the importance of family, relationships, and as public servants in this time of the pandemic. She also urged the employees to reflect on the true meaning of joy and differentiating it from happiness. “Happiness is based on emotions, while joy is a commitment to be chosen despite whatever situation or circumstances we are in,” Ms. Alerma said.
In giving her message, Vice Governor Cristy remind each one to always be thankful to the Holy Creator in whatever circumstances that may be, and grateful for the wisdom that He has given to Governor Angging, 2nd District Congressman Abdullah, and 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo in initiating measures like the establishment of the Incident Management Team to ensure an effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the province.
The Vice Governor emphasized that Christmas is the time of the birth of Jesus Christ, and a symbol of hope and joy that brings a new beginning and new life to everybody. “In this Holiday Season let us not focus on what we do not have, instead focus on what we have, our family, spouses, and children.” And added that giving time and treasuring every moment with the family should be everyone’s priority, especially in this challenging time.
Governor Angging agrees with the Vice Governor that with the standing health guidelines of DOH and the IATF to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the right time to show love and spend quality time with the parents along with the siblings. Creating memorable moments together will be invaluable, the Governor added.
Governor Angging considers the PGLDN employees as her second family and expressed gratitude for the support given to her administration, especially in the previous months of fighting COVID-19.
PGLDN employees were also encouraged by the Governor to be instrumental in disseminating relevant information on COVID-19 to the public, particularly to family members, relatives, neighbors, and friends.
“You will be an essential instrument of the government in educating and telling the people that we are still facing this unseen enemy. As public servants, you will serve as a model in following the health protocols of DOH and the guidelines of the IATF.”
Governor Angging is proud to express that the Province of Lanao del Norte remains a COVID-19 low-risk province in Region 10 next to Camiguin. The Governor also urged the employees as part of the new normal to remind people in public places to wear a face mask, strictly observe physical or social distancing, and wear a face shield when entering enclosed public spaces.
In celebration of Christmas parties, Governor Angging issued a Memorandum prompting PGLDN employees not to organize such parties in their respective offices in agreement with the pronouncement made by Secretary Harry Roque on December 1, 2020, “Christmas parties involving large number of people, as well as caroling are not allowed during this Christmas season in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.”
Paskuhan sa Lanao del Norte is a yearly activity that lasts until the first week of January, and the Grand Opening of Christmas Lights marks the beginning of the celebration.
In compliance with DOH and IATF health protocols and guidelines, the activity was not open to the general public. Only elected officials and employees of the Provincial Government were advised to join and are strictly required to wear face masks, face shields, and to observe social or physical distancing. PIO-LDN
