In support of the advocacy of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo to protect the natural environment of Lanao del Norte, including Mt. Torong Torong, Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza-Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator along with personnel from the Provincial and Community Environment & Natural Resources Office (PENRO & CENRO), Provincial Tourism, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office, Local Government Unit of Kolambugan and members of Lanorte Mountaineering Club (LAMOC), on December 2, 2020, conducted Trail blazing or way marking activity starting from the interior part of the Municipality of Kolambugan passing certain areas of the Municipality of Magsaysay before reaching Mt. Torong Torong in the Municipality of Tubod.
 
Ms. Sittie Aminah leads the activity with the purpose to geotag and personally conduct an ocular visit of the protected areas, including Mt. Torong Torong, as well as search and mark possible hiking trails in line with the plan of Governor Angging to develop the Boy Scouts camping site in the area.
 
After braving the forested areas and seeing the untouched natural environment, the Provincial Administrator said, “We are very proud that our Governor has a big respect to nature and is looking for ways to protecting it. With Governor Angging’s plan in developing the Boy Scouts area, this will help promote not only tourism but also environmental awareness among the constituents. Especially with the climate change where natural calamities happening around the world, Governor Angging has always emphasized the importance of taking care of Mother nature. Heavily involved in tree planting activities, our good Governor’s plan to develop the Boy Scout encampment is a reminder to what may have been forgotten – protecting the planet we all live in.”
 
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte under the leadership of Governor Angging in partnership with the two Congressional District Offices of 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and the father of peace, unity, and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo and the support of the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan chaired by Vice Governor Maria Cristina ‘Cristy’ N. Atay in coordination with the Municipal Mayors, PENRO & CENRO under the Department of Environment & Natural Resources, the Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Army, strongly condemns the degradation of forested areas in the province and initiated measures to protect the natural environment by strengthening law enforcement activities such as conducting Anti-illegal logging operations, confiscation of conveyances including machinery, equipment, and tools used in denuding the protected forest areas and apprehending and filing legal charges to individuals involved in such illegal logging activities.
