Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Kuya Bong’ T. Go, on November 24, 2020, visited the Province of Lanao del Norte to personally express his support to attain the aspiration of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte in improving the health care services for the welfare of the people by launching the 1st Malasakit Center in the province, and the 93rd One-Stop-Shop in the country for indigents patients to access financial medical assistance from agencies of the national government such as the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, sincerely thanked former Special Assistant to the President and now Senator ‘Kuya Bong’ Go, for the unwavering assistance extended to the Provincial Government in delivering quality and efficient government services to the people.
The Governor said that since before Senator ‘Kuya Bong’ Go was elected in the 2019 midterm election, support has been received by the Provincial Government including the Municipalities by providing all types of assistance that would benefit the people.
One significant assistance provided by the good Senator to the people of Lanao del Norte particularly in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is when he considered the appeal of the members of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) led by President Presbiterio Velasco, Jr. to include the Provinces in the Bayanihan to Heal as One-Act. And through the Bayanihan Grant, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through persistence and diligence of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo with the active support of Provincial Administrator Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo and the members of the Incident Management Team established the Provincial COVID-19 Testing Laboratory, the first Molecular Biology Laboratory in Northern Mindanao financed solely by a local government unit.
Senator ‘Kuya Bong’ Go deeply appreciates the effort of Governor Angging and the cooperation of the Municipal Mayors to continuously finding ways in delivering basic government services to the people and in leading the fight against COVID-19 to protect the safety and health of the general public.
Malasakit Center is the brainchild of Senator ‘Kuya Bong’ Go and approved by President Rodrigo Roa Duterteto in order to address immediately the needs of indigent patients by accelerating the tedious processes when availing financial medical assistance and under one roof.
To help sustain the humble purpose of Malasakit Center, President Duterte pledged to give P5 Million per month and an additional P10 Million each year from the Office of Senator ‘Kuya Bong’ Go to ensure that indigent patients can avail the medical services free of charge.
Secretary Wendel Avisado of the Department of Budget and Management, who accompanied the good Senator, assured that his office will provide the necessary assistance for the continuous operation of the Malasakit Centers throughout the country.
Before the official opening of the Malasakit Center in Kapatagan Provincial Hospital, Senator ‘Kuya Bong’ Go, also lead the launching of the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program at Pag-asa Green Village, Barangay Tacub, Municipality of Kauswagan and the distribution of Cash Assistance to Vendors of Kapatagan Public Market, Municipality of Kapatagan.
The official visit of Senator ‘Kuya Bong’ Go in the Province of Lanao del Norte was accompanied by DHSUD Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario, DA Secretary William Dar, DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista, DBM Secretary Wendel Avisado, PCOO Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin M. Andanar, and Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, the Chairman of Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).
Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino from the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) was also present to support the opening of the 1st Malasakit Center in the Province of Lanao del Norte.
