Officers of the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Korean Contractors for the Panguil Bay Bridge Project (PBBP) actively responded to the invitation of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo for a Coordination Meeting together with 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and the father of peace and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo at the Multipurpose Building, Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza compound, Pigcarangan, Tubod, on November 9, 2020.
Governor Angging thanked DPWH Project Engineers, Engr. Anton V. Gampaya and Engr. Miguel R. Ramos, representing Teresita Bauzon, the PBB Project Manager, for granting the request for a coordination meeting and at the same time providing updates of the status of the PBB Project. The Provincial Governor also extends her appreciation and gratitude to the Korean Contractors headed by Keun Yung Kim, the Project Manager from Namkwang Construction and Engineering, and Ju Jin Sang, Consultant from Youshin Joint Venture for responding to the invitation.
The Panguil Bay Bridge Project will not only physically link the provinces of Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte but also opens the door of economic opportunities to the people of both provinces and serve as a vital economic infrastructure for Region 10 and the rest of Mindanao, which made it one of the priority projects of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Governor Angging assures the DPWH and the Korean Contractors that the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte will actively respond to any assistance needed for a smooth implementation of the project and has already designated a site near the PBB Project for the contractors to stage their equipment and facilities. The Governor also urged the Legal Officers of DPWH 10 to coordinate with the Provincial Legal Officer to fast track the settlement of land issues.
1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo emphasized the importance of the PBB Project for the people of Lanao del Norte-a landmark of peace and development, which has been conceptualized since the time of his grandfather, the late Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza.
2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, initiated the conduct of the feasibility studies when he served as the Provincial Governor in pursuing the realization of the vision of the late Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza to connect the people of the two provinces and bridge the gap of cultural differences.
Engr. Gampaya and Engr. Ramos, assures the Governor and the two Congressmen that DPWH will regularly provide updates to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte and closely coordinate with the Provincial Engineering Office. It was also agreed at the meeting that the next coordination meeting will be in January 2020.
Governor Angging and the two Congressmen hopes that the Panguil Bay Bridge Project will be completed before the end of the term of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. PIO-LDN
