The Office of the Provincial Administrator spearheaded the Management Committee Meeting of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte to present updates on the consolidation of Vision 2020 Accomplishments, the Implementation of the Data Tracking System, and the Operations of the Incident Management Team and the Way Forward to the New Normal.

Since 1992 when Vision 2020 was crafted during the administration of former Governor and currently the 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte framed all its Programs, Projects, and Activities in accordance with the vision to be a globally competitive agri-industrial community of God-loving, ecology conscious, culturally diverse people working together in peace and harmony.

Vision 2020 serves as the guide for the provincial leaders to feasibly attain long-lasting peace and sustainable development by nurturing unity amongst the people through respect and tolerance of each other’s cultural and religious differences and parallel with the delivery of quality and effective government services in the communities.

Today, the Province of Lanao del Norte has various well-known establishments and businesses from fast-food chains, convenience stores to pharmacies, and one of the biggest retail supermarkets in the country is constructing its mall in the Municipality of Tubod, the capital town of the province.

Farm to Market Roads and Provincial Roads were delivered to provide easy and convenient access to the residents in the interior communities, especially to farmers delivering goods in the coastal municipalities in partnership with the national line government agencies.

Health care services were also given priority by partnering with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and providing additional medical equipment and facilities to the six (6) Provincial Hospitals, and Lanao del Norte is one of the pilot provinces of the Universal Health Care.

The construction of the Mindanao Civic Center is one of the greatest accomplishments of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte and placed the province on the map when it hosted the 47th Palarong Pambansa in 2003 and other major sporting activities such as the 1st Mindanao Friendship Games, several Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (NMRAA) Meet, and Motocross Competition, to name a few. And in 2019, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed Republic Act 11181, establishing the MCC Sports Complex as a Sports Training Center.

Preservation and protection of natural resources are one of the utmost concerns of the Provincial Government and the two Congressional District Offices, and at the time of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Proclamation No. 1344, s. 2007, declared the area covered by the Mt. Inayawan Range, situated in the Municipality of Nunungan, as a protected area pursuant to Republic Act 7586 (NIPAS Act of 1992) and shall be known as Mt. Inayawan Range Natural Park.

The upcoming Panguil Bay Bridge will not only link the Provinces of Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte, but it is also a vital infrastructure that opens the door for more economic opportunities on this side of the Northern Mindanao.

Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo with all these accomplishments, will further strengthen the effort of the Provincial Government and with the help of 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and the father of peace and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo in partnership with the Department of Education-Division of Lanao del Norte in enhancing the quality of education in the province and mold them to become responsible and upright members of society.

Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator was happy to see the factual basis of the accomplishments of Vision 2020 and was informed of the programs, projects, and activities of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte under the leadership of former Governor and now 2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, and former Governor and currently 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo. The Provincial Administrator humbly suggested to the department heads to review and focus on areas that need improvement to completely attain the goals of Vision 2020.

For the implementation of the Data Tracking System, Governor Angging understands the importance of the system that will help fast track the processing of documents, particularly the Purchase Requests of the respective departments that are essential in the delivery of PGLDN services to the people.

While the Incident Management Team presented to Governor Angging and the department heads, the accomplishments and undertakings of the Provincial Government in the fight against COVID-19.

One important decision of Governor Angging is to create a crisis management team, and that is the Incident Management Team. The team members are trained to manage any crisis, either man-made or natural in order to protect the lives and properties of the residents in active coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

When President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared the State of Public Health Emergency on March 8, 2020, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte immediately responded by establishing measures to curtail the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19 and to protect the safety and health of the general public in accordance with the health protocols of the Department of Health and guidelines crafted by the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases.

The Provincial Chief Executive issued a series of Executive Orders and approved Provincial Ordinances including other safety measures were implemented to protect the safety and health of the general public, such as the establishments of Quarantine Checkpoints in the municipalities bordering other cities and provinces, issuances of travel pass and travel clearance, creation of enforcement task force, and implementation of the Balik Lanorte Program.

Through the initiative of Governor Angging, the Provincial Government mandatorily requires Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) to submit themselves for an Antibody Rapid Diagnostic Test to ensure they are clear from COVID-19 symptoms before and for the safety of their loved ones.

And when the Bayanihan Grant to Provinces was released it helps propel in attaining the dream of having a COVID-19 Testing Laboratory in the province, which was recently inaugurated with the presence of Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., the IATF Chief Implementer on September 30, 2020.

All of these measures and actions initiated and implemented by the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte under the leadership of Governor Angging with the active support of 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and 2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo together with the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan chaired by Vice Governor Maria Cristina N. Atay are all for the welfare and best interest of the people of the Province of Lanao del Norte.

Governor Angging reminded the department heads to continue delivering assistance and services that are essential to the people, especially in this time of the COVID-19 crisis, and by partnering with national government agencies and strictly observed the minimum health standards of the Department of Health.
