The start of the school year 2020-2021 has been officially kicked-off in the Province of Lanao del Norte where Department of Education Secretary Leonor M. Briones and Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo together with other national, regional, and local officials leads the opening ceremony through simultaneous virtual launching on October 2, 2020.

Governor Angging in her message commends the determination of Secretary Briones for being persistent in finding ways to continue the learning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The effort of the good Secretary demonstrates the importance of education, especially to the youth, the future of the country.

The Provincial Chief Executive also extends her congratulations to DepEd 10 Regional Director Dr. Arturo B. Bayocot, and Assistant Regional Director Victor G. De Gracia, Jr. for actively implementing the program in the region, and to Lanao del Norte Schools Division Superintendent Edilberto L. Oplenaria and Rosemarie T. Maceras the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent for leading the program in the Province of Lanao del Norte.

“Education is important so as health. And that is the challenge that President Duterte, Secretary Briones, and the members of the Inter-Agency Task Force have been finding solutions to balance these two fundamental components of human capital,” the Governor said, and added that the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte will always be supportive of the programs, projects, and activities of DepEd Lanao del Norte Division.

In line with the theme, “Handang Isip, Handa Bukas,” Governor Angging emphasized the importance of understanding the procedures including the role of the school heads, teachers, parents, and the learners for a successful school year.

Schools Division Superintendent Edilberto L. Oplenaria expressed his gratitude to Governor Angging and the two Congressional District Representatives, 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and the father of peace and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo for the unwavering support extended to his office in achieving the aspirations of delivering efficient and effective learning strategies to enhance the quality of education in the Province of Lanao del Norte, which Secretary Briones deeply appreciates.
