Kolambugan Provincial Hospital was converted to an isolation facility to augment the effort of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte in establishing additional facilities to help address the increasing number of individuals suspected of having COVID-19, especially the Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs).
Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo sincerely thanked the medical personnel of the Provincial Hospitals and Isolation Units of the Provincial Government for the sacrifice by wholeheartedly serving to protect the safety and health of the constituents of Lanao del Norte.
Governor Angging reminded the doctors, nurses, and the personnel to be extra careful and always be mindful of their safety when engaging with individuals confined at their facility, and humbly said that as Governor, she is only an instrument to deliver efficient and effective government services to the people, such as providing medical equipment and machines, particularly for the Provincial Hospitals and isolation units managed by the Provincial Government in earnest effort to curtail the spread of COVID-19 for the welfare of the general public.
As public servants, it is proper to serve and treat every person with dignity and respect and to serve them well regardless of their economic status, religion, and culture, the Governor clearly emphasized.
Governor Angging thanked Board Member Honorable Abdul Harris U. Ali, the Committee Chairman on Health and Sanitation, for actively supporting all measures pertaining to health in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Mayor Lorenzo V. Mañigos of Kolambugan, and all the Municipal Mayors for rallying behind the Provincial Government in addressing COVID-19.
Dr. Demetrio U. Opamen, Jr., the Chief of Kolambugan Provincial Hospital, was grateful to hear the words of appreciation from Governor Angging in recognizing the sacrifice of the medical personnel despite the risk of acquiring COVID-19 just to stand with their oath to serve those who are in need of medical attention.
Governor Angging also asked those who were present at the event to include in their prayers the health and safety of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who has tirelessly thought of finding ways to protect the Filipino people against COVID-19 and bringing back the once vibrant economy of the country.
The Molecular Biology Laboratory in Old Kapatagan Provincial Hospital was realized through the Bayanihan Grant to Provinces as support to the call of President Duterte to boost the programs of the Provincial Government Units against COVID-19.
President Duterte through Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ T. Go, has extended essential assistance to the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte aside from addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, like the establishment of the 2nd Dialysis Center in the province which will be located in the New Kapatagan Provincial Hospital.
The New Isolation Annex of Kolambugan Provincial Hospital has 23 beds and fully furnished to give comfort and convenience to individuals under quarantine, and has also installed the new digital Radiographic Machine, additional equipment to better serve the medical needs of the people.
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte with the support of two Congressional District Representatives, 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and the father of peace and development, 2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan chaired by Vice Governor Maria Cristina ‘Cristy’ N. Atay, and the Municipal Mayors has able to implement measures to keep the public safe from COVID-19 in support of the National Government’s effort.
