The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte is continuously engaging with all stakeholders in managing to curb the spread of COVID-19, and on September 4, 2020, at MCC Gymnasium, Municipality of Tubod, the Incident Management Team spearheaded a Coordination Meeting with the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Lanao del Norte, Police Provincial and Municipal Offices, Municipal Health Offices, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, Doctors to the Barrio, and the Association of Private Hospitals in the province.

Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator and the IMT Deputy Responsible Officer, expressed her gratitude to the participants for actively attending the meetings organized by the Provincial Government and supporting the local health measures implemented in the province.

During the open forum, the IMT Deputy Responsible Officer answered the queries and other concerns by the municipal officers and representatives and has also encouraged them to share ideas or suggestions in the pursuit of containing the COVID-19 pandemic in keeping the general populace safe and secure and gearing towards the new normal.

Lanao del Norte DILG Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao, together with Engr. Abulcair D. Lindao presented the guidelines on the Applications of the Zoning Containment Strategy in the Localization of the National Action Plan against COVID-19, while, Atty. Mark Cristopher Babor, the Provincial Legal Officer, discussed the proposed Provincial Ordinance that seeks to adopt the Zoning Containment Strategy in the province.

The Zoning Containment Strategy (ZSC) refers to a localized rapid-response operation to contain the spread of COVID-19 as a preventive option for intervention. The ZCS aims to provide the National and the Local Government Units (LGUs) with guidelines during the implementation of the Zoning Containment Strategy in their respective localities to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and also serves as a guide to local authorities in the transition of community quarantine measures from less to more stringent restrictions while continuously monitoring the COVID-19 risk indicators.

Honorable Vice Governor Maria Cristina ‘Cristy’ N. Atay, was also present at the meeting together with Honorable Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Atty. Eleuterio M. Obial Jr., and have listed the ideas and suggestions from the participants which they will consolidate and may include when amending some of the provisions of the Provincial Ordinance No. 10, Series of 2020, “An Ordinance Providing for the Guidelines on Maintaining Vital Health Protocols in the entire Province of Lanao del Norte to fight the spread of COVID-19 and for other purposes.”

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte under the leadership of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo and with the support of the two Congressional District Offices of 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and the father of peace and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan chaired by Vice Governor Maria Cristina ‘Cristy’ N. Atay, has actively created measures through issuances of Executive Orders and Provincial Ordinances following the health protocols of the Department of Health and guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases, as well as the establishments of isolation and quarantine facilities and construction of a Provincial COVID-19 Testing Laboratory to immediately address the COVID-19 issues and concerns for the welfare of the people of the Province of Lanao del Norte, “The Land of Beauty and Bounty.” PIO-LDN
