For the 2nd time in a year, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the active leadership of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo inked a new chapter for the land of beauty and bounty in pursuit of lasting peace and sustainable development.
A dispute between the Mangondawis family and Manamparan family from the Municipality of Nunungan has finally agreed to put an end to their misunderstanding by signing the Covenant of Peace and Reconciliation on August 19, 2020, at the Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium, Municipality of Tubod.
Governor Angging earnestly thanked both families in resolving their differences after years of conflict and give way to peace and reconciliation, and recognized the effort of Nunungan Municipal Mayor, Honorable Marcos M. Mamay for unceasingly finding ways to convinced the Mangondawis and Manamparan families to come forward and voluntarily agreed, consent and approve to amicably settle and expressed their commitment to abide with the agreement.
The Provincial Chief Executive also recognized the hard work of Police Major Salman Saad and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member, Honorable Acmad Taha for their perseverance to make this event successful, especially for the children of both families.
In expressing the sincerity of both parties, Sultan Dimasangcay Omair Manamparan and Arbaa Motil Mangondawis along with their respective family members hold the Holy Qur’an with their hands as Aleem Noska Abdulrahman recites the verse from the Holy Qur’an reminding the parties that Allah (s.w.t.) instructs the faithful to immediately settle any conflict amongst each other.
The momentous event was witnessed by Brigadier General Facundo O. Palafox IV, Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion and Police Provincial Director PCOL Rolindo Suguilon. Present also at the event was LTC Domingo Dulay Jr., Battalion Commander of the 4th Mechanized Infantry, and LTC Matias Jr., Battalion Commander of the 5th Mechanized.
