Officers of the Incident Management Team (IMT) presented monitoring updates of the Provincial Isolation Facilities for COVID-19 to Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo at the Governor’s Conference Room, Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza Provincial Government Center, Pigcarangan, Tubod on July 7, 2020.
The team discussed to the Provincial Chief Executive the necessity of identifying other areas and facilities that could help accommodate the increasing number of returning residents, especially the LSIs and OFWs, as isolation units.
Governor Angging pushed the team, particularly the Department Heads of the Provincial Engineers Office and the Provincial Architecture’s Office to fast track the construction and preparation of the identified isolation facilities of the Provincial Government.
The number of LSIs and OFWs returning to the province has a daily average of 87 and 5, respectively, to which the Provincial Chief Executive is making sure that the facilities are adequate to address the daily influx.
Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibraza Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator and the Deputy Responsible Officer of the IMT encouraged the officers to continue working closely with each other by providing necessary assistance, such as the preparation of documents, planning and other related tasks for the immediate operation of isolation facilities.
One of the identified isolation facilities is the Basement of the Stadium of the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex, Tubod. Currently, only the upper rooms of the said stadium have been used to accommodate the LSIs and OFWs for the 14-day quarantine period.
When completed, the Stadium Basement can hold up to 81 Locally Stranded Individuals and Overseas Filipino Workers.
Governor Angging is doing her best to address the increasing number of returning LSIs and OFWs and provide them with a decent place to stay while they are being quarantined until the duration of the period. And through this, the families are guaranteed that their loved ones are treated fairly and accordingly, and provided them with the necessary care. PIO-LDN
