Maintaining the people’s harmonious coexistence in the Province of Lanao del Norte is the utmost priority of the Provincial Government headed by Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, in her aspiration to attain lasting peace and sustainable development in partnership with 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and the father of peace and development, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, the Municipal Mayors, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, National Government Agencies and Civil Society Organizations.

Governor Angging as chairperson of both Councils, the Provincial Peace and Order and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse, presided the 2nd Quarter Meeting for 2020, organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Lanao del Norte under the direction of Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao.

Presented at the meeting are security reports from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, as well as peace and order updates from the Philippine National Police, and discussed relevant issues and concerns, such as the Universal Health Care which 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo bravely fought in the House of Representatives to include the Province of Lanao del Norte as one of the pilot provinces.

Governor Angging earnestly asked the commitment of the Local Government Units to support the implementation of the UHC program for the benefit of the people of the Province of Lanao del Norte.

The Provincial Chief Executive also commended the actions of the AFP 2nd Mechanized Brigade under the command of Brigadier General Facundo O. Palafox IV, Police Provincial Office headed by Police Colonel Rene P. Solidarios, Honorable Board Member Acmad B. Taha, Police Major Salman M. Saad and sincerely thanked the effort of the two Local Chief Executives, Honorable Motalib M. Dimaporo of Sultan Naga Dimaporo and Honorable Marcos M. Mamay of Nunungan for successfully convinced the Maruhom and Alamada family to put an end to their Rido (Clan War) last June 4 after more than 7 years of fighting. The firearms were turned-over days after the momentous event took place to the AFP in coordination with the PNP and were presented at the Joint Council Meeting to show that both families are committed to their words of peace and reconciliation.

Governor Angging has also asked the members of the PNP in the province to continue serving and protecting the interest of the general public and arrest those who are violating the law of the land, especially those involved in drug trafficking, and said, “Do your job well, and you will save the children’s future, and that includes your children and their children, and they will thank you for your actions today.”

The joint meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council was held at the Gymnasium of the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex on July 2, 2020, Tubod, Lanao del Norte. PIO-LDN
