RIDO in Lanao del Norte

In the pursuit of lasting peace in the Province of Lanao del Norte, Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo through the combined effort of the two active and peace-loving Municipal Mayors of Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Honorable Motalib M. Dimaporo and Honorable Marcos M. Mamay of Nunungan and the Office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Rido and Conflict Settlement Chaired by Honorable Board Member Acmad B. Taha, and with the support of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Philippines under the Command of Brigadier General Facundo O. Palafox IV and the Police Provincial Office headed by Police Colonel Rene S. Solidarios, successfully settled a clan war between the Alamada family of Barangay Rebucon of Nunungan and Maruhom family of Barangay Ilian of Sultan Naga Dimaporo.

Bisr Alamada and Amerhassan Maruhom have freely and voluntarily agreed, consent, and approved to amicably settle and committed to putting an end to their much-prolonged conflict, dispute, and misunderstanding brought by an unfortunate twist of fate.

Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo, heartily expressed her gratitude to both families and to the individuals and groups who have tirelessly worked hard to convince the concerned families in stepping forward and embraced the road towards peace and reconciliation.

The momentous event demonstrates that no matter how deep the wounds are, there is always time to heal and forgive and a chance for all to live peacefully.

In expressing the sincerity of both parties, Bisr Alamada and Amerhassan Maruhom hold the Holy Qur’an with their hands as Aleem Noska Abdulrahman recites the verse from the Holy Qur’an reminding the parties that Allah (s.w.t.) instructs the faithful to immediately settle any conflict amongst each other.

2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, the father of peace and development and 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, was happy to know that finally, both families have agreed to reconcile their differences, and open the door of peace and development for the people of the Municipalities of Sultan Naga Dimaporo and Nunungan.

The Rido settlement and reconciliation was held at the Gymnasium of Mindanao Civic Center, Tubod, on June 4, 2020. PIO-LDN
