Members of the Incident Management Team of Lanao del Norte gathered to discuss the implementation of Executive Order 05, Series of 2020, issued by Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo on the afternoon of March 16, 2020.

The said EO declaring the entire Province of Lanao del Norte be under Community Quarantine, presenting the guidelines to prevent local transmission of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and establish the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19.

Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator and Deputy Responsible Official, suggested to first identify the boundaries of Lanao del Norte and activate checkpoints to monitor those who are coming in and out for the strict and smooth execution of EO 05, S of 2020.

The municipalities that were identified that share border with the other cities and provinces are Linamon-Iligan, Pantar-Lanao del Sur, Balo-i-Iligan, Tagoloan-Iligan-Lanao del Sur, Kolambugan (Mukas)-Ozamis City-Misamis Occidental, Tubod (Wharf)-Tangub City-Misamis Occidental, Tubod (Caniogan)-Lanao del Sur, Sultan Naga Dimaporo (Dalama)-Lanao del Sur, Sultan Naga Dimapor (Tagulo), and Kapatagan (Taguitic)-Aurora-Zamboanga del Sur.

Officers from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, and Philippine Coast Guard will operate their designated checkpoints along with the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team, and personnel from the Municipal Health Office, as well as the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office.

Land Transportation Officer of Lanao del Norte, Malic Sultan discussed with the august body that those public transport vehicles violating the guidelines on social distancing will be stopped and if necessary hold the vehicle unless the restrictions are fairly complied.

Incident Commander, Lyndon G. Calica, the Provincial Information Officer and Community Affairs Officer, humbly suggested to the Deputy Responsible Official that the Provincial Coordinators, who have a strong connection with the Local Government Officials, and Barangay Officials, to be the one managing each checkpoint for efficient and effective coordination on the ground, which was welcomed by Ms. Sittie Aminah and the members of the IMT.

In every checkpoint, the personnel manning the area will be given Thermal Scanner, Face Masks, and Hand Sanitizers or Alcohol.

The IMT seeks to fully implement the said Executive Order in the entire Province of Lanao del Norte beginning tomorrow, March 19, 2020.

Furthermore, religious gatherings will be allowed provided that its leaders will ensure that precautionary measures recommended by the Department of Health will be strictly implemented and observe, such as social distancing, and proper coughing, and no physical contact like handshakes or hugging.
