Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary José Ruperto Martín Marfori Andanar was in Lanao del Norte to personally discussed with Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo the programs of his office, particularly the Duterte Legacy that would feature the programs and projects of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for the last three and half (3 ½) years that helped shaped the country’s inclusive peace and development programs.

Sec. Andanar was interested to hear the history behind the Panguil Bay Bridge that started as a vision 30 years ago of the late former Governor Arsenio A. Quibranza, the father of Governor Angging, to connect not only physically the provinces of Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte but also a bridge that will bring economic opportunities as well as bridging the gap of cultural differences amongst the people of these two provinces.

The PCOO Secretary was happy to know that through President Duterte the dream for more than three decades will be realized two years from now, and urged the Philippine Information Agency Director General Abner M. Caga and Regional Director Franklin Gumapon to work closely with the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through Lyndon G. Calica, the Provincial Information Officer, for the documentation of the PBB until its completion in the year 2022.

Governor Angging was glad when the good Secretary informed her that the Philippine Information Agency will designate personnel solely for Lanao del Norte to cover various programs, projects, and activities of the Provincial Government including the Municipal Governments, furthermore, in the near future, a People’s Television Network 4 (PTV 4) will be established in the province to broadcast daily in national television the activities in the province, which the Governor warmly welcomed the move and offered a place within the Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex in Sagadan, Municipality of Tubod.

In addition, Secretary Andanar humbly disclosed to Governor Angging that a Government Communication Academy, a center for media literacy program will be situated in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon for aspiring media practitioners and information officers from the Barangays, Municipalities to the Provincial Governments, and in June, a media hub will be unveiled in Davao City.

Secretary Andanar also invited Governor Angging to participate in the upcoming National Information Convention and encouraged the Provincial Chief Executive on behalf of Lanao del Norte regarding the legacy programs of President Duterte that helped shape the future of the province.
