To continuously provide assistance to farmers and fishermen in Lanao del Norte, Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo actively supports the effort of the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office headed by Ms. Letecia G. Ditucalan in initiating programs that help increase agricultural productivity, as well as preservation and protection of fish sanctuaries in the coastal municipalities.

On February 28, 2020, at the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office Compound, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the Office of Ms. Ditucalan, turned-over ten (10) units of Multifunction Tiller/Cultivator to seven (7) associations including one municipality; twenty-two (22) units of Mechanical Weeder to farmers cooperatives & associations; and nine (9) sets of Rehabilitation & Maintenance materials for Fish Sanctuary Projects to ten (10) coastal municipalities of the province.

The energetic PAO Officer, Ms. Ditucalan, sincerely expressed her gratitude to Governor Angging for unceasingly supporting the programs of her office that are always for the betterment of the farmers and fishermen of Lanao del Norte, and to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, chaired by Vice Governor Maria Cristina ‘Cristy’ N. Atay for the approval and allocation of budget.

Ms. Ditucalan also thanked the efforts of the two good District Representatives of Lanao del Norte, 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo, and 2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo for working closely with the Provincial Government in delivering projects such as farm to market roads, irrigations, fishing boats, to name a few.

The partnership between the Provincial Government and the Municipal Governments is essential for the government programs to succeed and greatly benefit the intended recipients.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member, Honorable Reinario B. Bihag, Chairman of both Committees Agriculture and Cooperatives, said that the Provincial Government has lists of programs, projects, and activities for the farmers and fishermen of the province.

Honorable Bihag said, “Governor Angging wants to see to it that the Provincial Government can deliver adequate assistance to you (farmers and fisherfolks) for the sustainability of your associations or cooperatives. Just like the P100,000.00 financial assistance that Governor Angging gave to the cooperatives as additional capitalization.”

Mr. Jerry Enterina of OSWAG Simpak Multi-Purpose Cooperative, a beneficiary of Mechanical Weeder, thanked Governor Angging for the equipment that will make their job easier, especially when clearing weeds and grass in their rice fields.
