Residents of Barangay Poblacion and nearby areas receive the first-ever “Alagang Angging Especial Mass-Based Program” of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte in celebration of their 12th Community Day on February 21, 2020, at Maigo Covered Court.
Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo was warmly welcome by the Municipal Mayor, Honorable Ina Louise R. Miflores, and Vice Mayor, Honorable Joseph G. Neri together with the Barangay Chairman and Council Members of Barangay Poblacion headed by Honorable Ruth T. Pareja.
Mayor Miflores thanked Governor Angging for bringing the services of the Provincial Government to the people of Maigo and expressed her appreciation to the leadership of the Provincial Chief Executive in sustaining the unity of the people that leads to peace and development.
Governor Angging, on the other hand, was grateful cause for the first time, the Local Chief Executive of Maigo personally welcomes her in the municipality, and was happy to see the residents of Barangay Poblacion and neighboring barangays availing the various frontline services provided by the Provincial Government, such as Medical and Dental Check-ups with take-home medicine, Legal Services, others received vegetable seeds and tree seedlings, some registered to participate on family planning orientation, and a number brought their pets for vaccination, and neutering, to name a few.
The Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the two consistent partners of the Provincial Government, not only in keeping the province safe and secure but also in providing caring services. The PNP handed sleepers to children, while the AFP conducted free hair-cut, and orientation through a video presentation.
Provincial Information Officer and Provincial Community Affairs Division head Lyndon G. Calica, humbly explains the purpose of EMBP. The primary objective of Governor Angging with the support of the two District Representatives, 1st District Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quirbranza Dimaporo, and 2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, is to deliver the various frontline services of the Provincial Government, thus, “Bringing the Government Closer to the People” by brushing aside political differences in order to serve the people with sincerity.
In her speech, the Governor said that “EMBP was created especially for the constituents of the interior barangays or municipalities that have limited or no access at all to avail the basic government services like health care. Today is an exemption, due to the persistence of Barangay Captain Pareja and in celebration of 12th Community Day of Barangay Poblacion, the Provincial Government is here to demonstrate that we care for the people of the Municipality of Maigo.”
Governor Angging gave a piece of motherly advice to Mayor Miflores to never deprive her constituents to participate in the programs initiated by the Provincial Government only because of politics. The programs initiated by the Provincial Government are always in partnership with various National Government Agencies. These programs or activities are essentials in shaping the future of Lanao del Norte for the better by strengthening unity and camaraderie among the culturally diverse people of the province.
The Provincial Government and the two Congressional District Offices do not want politics to hamper the delivery of government services to the people.
In fact, the concreting of Provincial Road Maigo-Mentring-Inoma will be completed by this year, and the Liangan-Camp 1-Mahayahay Provincial Road concreting will continue with a budget of P20M. These two projects are funded by the Provincial Government under the 20% Development Fund. While Congressman Khalid through his Congressional Fund allocated budget to some Barangays in Maigo that have submitted their project proposals.
“This is our obligation to the people of Lanao del Norte, and as elected government officials it is our duty to provide services that are beneficial to our constituents. This is not for our own good, this is for the good of the people. And I hope that Mayor Ina Louise Miflores will continue to work with the Provincial Government and with the Office of the 1st District Representative for the betterment of the Municipality and the people of Maigo.”
