Governor Imelda "Angging" Quibranza-Dimaporo on stage

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Ms. Annabelle S. Mendez, organized the culmination of the Provincial Elderly Filipino Week with the theme, “Healthy and Productive Ageing Starts with Me” held at Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium on October 28, 2019.

Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo sincerely addressed her inspirational message and recognized the elderly’s important role in society, not only in guiding and inspiring the new generation but as well as partners for sustainable peace and development.

The Provincial Chief Executive meekly expressed her appreciation for the sacrifices they gave to their family and shared to the community, and as a sign of gratitude, the Provincial Government prepared gifts to the elders, a humble gesture of Governor Angging in giving thanks to their contribution, and a program to entertain them by inviting gay entertainers from Cebu City,

And to make the day memorable, elderlies’ from different municipalities showcased their talents by performing traditional Filipino songs and dance.

2,801 Senior Citizens from the Municipalities of Linamon, Kauswagan, Bacolod, Maigo, Kolambugan, Tubod, Baroy, Lala, Kapatagan, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Sapad and Magasaysay actively participated in the said event.

Ms. Daisy Ramos, the focal person of Senior Citizens of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office 10 encouraged the elderlies to continue being productive citizens of the community despite of their age and physical abilities.

While Ms. Christine Mae Magno, Philhealth Chief of Iligan and Lanao del Norte provided relevant information and reminded the elders to enrol for those who are not registered in order to avail the services of Philhealth.

Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo together with 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo and 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, actively engages with various national government agencies to further strengthen the services of the government for the good of the people of the province.

Provincial Vice-Governor Maria Cristina N. Atay and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member, Honorable Marivic Ramos was also at the event to express their support to Governor Angging and to the elderlies of Lanao del Norte, “The Land of Beauty and Bounty.” PIO-LDN
