Governor Angging urges Cooperatives to remain steadfast

Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo calls on all Cooperatives in the province to take care of their resources and continue to improve their services for the betterment of the lives of its members during the culmination program of the Cooperative Month held at Mindanao Civic Center Gymnasium, Sagadan, Tubod on October 25, 2019.

“As your partner, the Provincial Cooperative Office headed by Ms. Minda V. Regis is always ready to extend necessary assistance to you, especially when you need to comply to the requirements set by the Cooperative Development Authority. What we are doing is not for our personal interest, it is our duty and responsibility to help you improve your lives and provide a better future for your children and their children,” the Governor said.

The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte sees the need to strengthen the Cooperatives in the municipalities to help improve the lives of the residents in its communities and a chance to empower its members and be responsible citizens of society.

PCO and CDA 10 actively engages with the Cooperatives in the province by conducting series of training and seminars, particularly on management skills and bookkeeping. This is to make the Cooperatives more efficient and productive.

2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo remind the officers to be professional in managing their Cooperatives, and listen to the ideas and suggestions of its members, to make it more dynamic as well as transparent. The Office of Congressman Abdullah is willing to provide assistance to those Cooperatives that are professionally managed, and extend scholarship to members, a graduate of Business Management, and below the age of 30, and has good grades, to enroll in Master’s Degree in Cooperative Management in Cagayan de Oro City.

In addition, Congressman Abdullah, praised the effort of the Cooperative Development Authority in initiating programs that improve and enhance the Administration of Cooperatives.

Regional Director Glen S. Garcia, Cooperative Development Authority 10, was warmly welcomed by Governor Angging and extend her gratitude for giving time to visit Lanao del Norte for the first time and see how peaceful and united the Muslims and Christians in the province, as what the Regional Director expressed in his message.

RD Garcia has also seen how supportive the Provincial Government is to the Cooperatives, as well as the two Congressional District Offices. And he encouraged to reciprocate the kindness of the leaders by working hard to improve their Cooperatives and uplift the lives of its members.

The culmination activity was also the launching of Initiative for Quality Development (IQD) Coop Awards and Awarding of 2nd Batch CLAP (Cooperative Livelihood Assistance Program) Beneficiaries witnessed by Assistant Regional Director Marilou D. Carumba, Maridel Suerte-CDS II, Alvin Castro-CDS II, Maria Lovella Velasco-CDS II, and Raleigh M. Sumobay-LDN PCDC Chairperson. PIO-LDN
