The Office of the Special Assistant to the President represented by Director Rodrigo B, Giducos led the distribution of financial assistance to the affected families of Tropical Depression Falcon in the Municipalities of Kapatagan and Lala that hit the province last July 16 of this year. The financial assistance is through the Housing Materials Assistance (HOMA) Program of the National Housing Authority.

Director Giducos explains that the Office of the President and the Office of Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go continuously collaborates in order to provide necessary assistance to all victims of disaster including fire and flood through the office of the National Housing Authority.

The OSAP Director commends the effort of NHA-OIC, Regional Director, Engr. Judy A. Fernandez and OIC District II Manager, Engr. Madeliene Gilda S. Abellera including their staff for actively responding to the needs of the flood victims in the two municipalities of the Province Lanao del Norte.

“Senator Bong’ Go is a man of action, he does not only sit in the Senate but make time to visit places, especially areas that are affected by disaster,” Director Giducos said. Senator Bong Go, since and even before he became a member of the Senate has always been seen serving the Filipino people.

Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo strongly agreed to the statement of Director Giducos. Added that, Senator Bong Go is the only Senator after the election who had look back to Lanao del Norte even though only through the OSAP Director to express his care and sincerity by extending help and assistance to flood victims of Tropical Depression Falcon.

The Provincial Chief Executive on behalf of the people of the province expressed her sincerest gratitude to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and to Senator Bong Go for keeping their promise to help and provide necessary assistance and hope that programs such as this will come to Lanao del Norte.

Governor Angging also thanked the Municipal Governments of Kapatagan and Lala for their efforts for the successful activity. The Governor reminds the beneficiaries to use wisely the financial assistance for the construction or improvement of their houses and appealed to the flood victims to transfer in the relocation site, and called on all residents to plant trees and suggested to the barangay and municipal officials to include tree planting in their activities when celebrating its foundation day or fiesta.

According to Director Giducos, families whose houses were considered totally damaged will receive P30,000 and for the partially damaged, P20,000. The financial assistance at first was only in the amount of P5,000 but through the collaborative action of the Office of the President and Office of Senator Bong Go, the financial assistance was raised to a higher amount.

The turnover of check of Housing Materials Assistance fund for flood victims to the LGU was successively held in the Municipal Gymnasium of Kapatagan and in the Municipal Gymnasium of Lala on October 12, 2019.

The affected barangays in the Municipality of Kapatagan: Bagong Silang, Balili, Butadon, Concepcion, Curvada, De Asis, Lapinig, Maranding, Poblacion, San Vicente, Sto. Tomas, Sta. Cruz, Tiacongan, and Waterfalls. And in the Municipality of Lala: Darumawang Ilaya, El Salvador, Lala Proper, Maranding, Pinoyak, Rebe, San Manuel, Tenazas, and Tuna-an. PIO-LDN
