Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo called for a meeting in preparation for the Provincial Launching for CAPDev (Convergence Areas for Peace and Development) Program on October 7, 2019, in Barangay Berwar, Municipality of Tangcal.

CAPDev Program is a strategy to implement Executive Order 70 “Institutionalizing the Whole-Of-Nation- Approach in Attaining Inclusive And Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework.”

The Provincial Government in cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Philippines – 2nd Mechanized Brigade, identified Barangay Berwar in Tangcal as the priority site for the introduction of CAPDev Program.

The Provincial Chief Executive sees this as an opportunity to engage with the local residents, particularly to the members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in mending the relationship and focus on working together for the betterment of the people and help sustain the unity of the Muslim and Christian residents in the province.

“The peace that we are enjoying today is because of the unity of the Muslims and Christians in our province. The development and progress that we see in Lanao del Norte today is the fruit of our hard work, and without the resident’s effort in protecting and preserving peace, our province will not be as progressive today. It is time for us to move-on and starts a new day. We do this not because for ourselves, but for the future of our children, and their children,” the Governor expressed.

The result of the Bangsamoro Organic Law plebiscite excluding the six municipalities of Tagoloan, Balo-i, Munai, Nunungan, Pantar, and Tangcal to the autonomous region, will still receive funds from Bangsamoro government for the implementation of projects, such as, livelihood, school facilities, barangay facilities, housing, health facilities, to name a few.

Governor Angging was happy to express her gratitude to Department of the Interior and Local Government, Provincial Director Bruce A. Colao; Brigadier General Ezra James P Enriquez, General Officer-in-Charge of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade; PNP Provincial Director, PSSupt. Rene P Solidarios; and to the officers of the different national agencies; BFP, TESDA, BFAR, PSA, PDOH, DOLE, Red Cross, and to Sangguniang Bayan Member, Honorable Abdany Buanding of the Municipality of Tangcal together with Engr.
