The weeklong festivity has finally come to an end, thanks to the people of Lanao del Norte for actively participated and joined the celebration that made it successful. After all, the activities that were prepared by the Provincial Government through the leadership of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo supported by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the Department Heads and in partnership with the MunicipalLocal Chief Executives, is for the people of the land of beauty and bounty to enjoy and have fun.

The sincerity and dedication of the residents in sustaining peace and development are much appreciated by Governor Angging. Their participation to the implementation of the programs, projects, and activities by the provincial government in their communities is an effective approach to deliver what was promised to them. These programs, projects, and activities are just a tool and it is up to the people how to efficiently take advantage of these tools to achieve a better life. Coordination, collaboration, and cooperation between the provincial government, municipal government, and the concern barangay must first be established.

DILG Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs Martin B. Dino was the guest speaker for the culmination of the 60th Araw ng Lanao del Norte. “I have heard so much about the Province of Lanao del Norte. The effective leadership of the Quibranza Dimaporo has sustained the unity of the people that paved the way to progress and development.”

The Undersecretary in his message emphasized the important role of the Barangay Officials for the successful implementation of the government’s plan. “You are the first public official that will hear the sentiments of the people in your community. And it is you who will first address the raised issues.”

In order to maximize the function of Barangay Officials, Usec. Dino said, “With the help of Senator Bong Go, I am seeking the approval of Congress for the term extension of Barangay Officials and Sangguniang Kabataan members for another year instead of three years, you will serve four years of every term, a total of 12 years if people allows you to complete the three-term.” The Bill was introduced by former Senate President Aquilino ‘Nene’ Pimentel, Jr. during the 14th Congress.

Aside from the term extension of Barangay and SK members, Usec. Dino is also working on the proposals to make the barangay personnel as regular government employees including barangay secretary, treasurer, health workers, barangay peacekeeping action team, and nutrition scholars.

Barangay Officials and SK members present at the venue was happy to hear the message of Usec Dino and hope that the proposed Bill will be accepted by Congress.

1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza-Dimaporo agreed to Usec. Dino and the important role of Barangay and SK officials in safeguarding their communities.

“Terrorist Group thrives in the communities because some barangay officials are afraid to apply their duties as a peacekeeper. This is what happens in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City.”

In Lanao del Norte, barangay officials are the forefront in guarding the safety of their people and immediately report suspicious men or group to the Municipal Mayor, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police. individuals who are coming in and out of their barangays and immediately report to the Mayor, AFP, and PNP.

The father of Peace and Development of the Province of Lanao del Norte, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, continue to advocate not only livelihood programs, quality education but importantly sustaining the harmonious relationship of Muslims and Christians of the province.

In continuously leading the province to prosperity, Governor Angging implemented programs, projects, activities that best suit to people’s needs in partnership with different national government agencies, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, and the municipal local government units.

In her message, Governor Angging expressed her sincerest gratitude to the collective efforts of all stakeholders for the effective delivery of services to the people whom she promised to serve. “This 60th celebration commemorates the hard work, dedication, and sincerity of the past and present public officials, and especially the people of Lanao del Norte for supporting the efforts fo the provincial government and municipal government in sustaining the peace and order by promoting unity within our culturally diverse community. Unity is the primary force that drives our province in achieving sustainable peace and development. Our collective effort brings us closer together as a unit serving a purpose – to improve the quality of life for all.”

The administration of Governor Angging has effectively implemented programs, projects, and activities in the communities, and recognized the important role of the Department Heads in making the services of the provincial government effective and successful.

Also at the culmination, Awards for Best Municipal Booth for Agri-Aqua Fair were given-6th Place: Municipality of Sapad, 5th Place: Municipality of Baroy, 4th Place: Municipality of Lala, 3rd Place: Municipality of Tubod, 2nd Place: Municipality of Kapatagan, and 1st Place: Municipality of Kauswagan. And for the Booth Lighting Contest-3rd Place: Municipality of Kauswagan, 2nd Place: Municipality of Tubod, and 1st Place: Municipality of Kapatagan.
