As part of Tourism Day, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte also includes the Showdown of Municipal Festivals in the afternoon of July 2, right after the Sagayan Festival at the Grandstand of Mindanao Civic Center Sports Complex.
Department of Tourism 10 Regional Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan thanked the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the leadership of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo for actively participating in the programs of the department in its quest to promote the whole island of Mindanao as a prime tourist destination in the country.
The island of Mindanao has so much to offer, not only the abundance of natural wonders but also rich with cultural heritage that is preserved by the indigenous people through time.
In Lanao del Norte, when municipalities celebrate festivals expected it to be grandiose. To name, Hudyaka sa Lubi Festival of Linamon Municipality, Hugyaw sa Kadagatan Festival of Kauswagan, Sarimanok Festival of Kolambugan, Sagingan Festival of Tubod-the capital town, Kalilang & Buntong Festival of Nunungan Municipality, Tulingan Festival of Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Kahumayan Festival of Kapatagan, Lechon Festival of Baroy, Niyogan Festival of Magsaysay, and the Alimango Festival of Lala.
Governor Angging was happy to see the municipalities participating in the activities prepared by the provincial government.
On this day, three municipalities were identified by the judges that deserve winning a spot. 3rd Place went to the Sarimanok Festival of Kolambugan, 2nd Place to Sultan Naga Dimaporo, and the festival that standout in this year’s competition is the Kahumayan Festival of the Municipality of Kapatagan.
