The sincerity of Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo in standing by with her promise of replacing the computers that was damaged during Typhoon Vinta on December 22, 2017, has been felt and deeply appreciated by the teachers, faculties, and parents especially the students of Guillermo A. Gimeno Elementary School in Barangay Titunod, Municipality of Kolambugan.
On August 7, 2019, Ms. Sittie Aminah Quibranza Dimaporo, the Provincial Administrator of Lanao del Norte, on behalf of Governor Angging (in Manila attending Governor’s League) personally turned over 6 brand new set of computers including printers to School Principal Olivia A. Agpasa with Municipal Mayor Lorenzo V. Mañigos.
“This is the first school that Governor Angging has prioritized to distribute computers. This also would not have been for the support of Honorable Mayor Mañigos. This is because of the leadership that they both have and the combination that they are working together to make Kolambugan more effective, especially when it comes to education.”
In addition, the Provincial Administrator hopes that the new set of computers will help with the education and growth of the teachers and students. School Principal Agpasa warmly accepts the new computers and conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to Governor Angging through Ms. Sittie Aminah, and promised to take care of the computers and assuring that the teachers and the students will make use of these new computers.
The Local Chief Executive of Kolambugan, Honorable Lorenzo V. Mañigos, expressed his earnest gratitude to Governor Angging for continuously extending necessary assistance to his municipality for the betterment of the people, as well as to 1st District Representative, Congressman Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo for always ready to answer the needs of the people as shown after Typhoon Vinta.
Barangay Titunod was one of the most affected Barangays in the province during that unfortunate day, and GAGES suffered tremendously as all of the equipment were damaged when water flooded the school.
The Provincial Administrator also encouraged the community to practice solid waste management and initiate tree planting activities to help in the preservation of the environment.
“As what the good Governor has said, If we take care of Mother Nature, Mother Nature will take care of us.”
Also present at the turnover ceremony are Barangay Captain John Genellou R. Polvorosa and the Council members; PTA President Elvis P. Balongag together with the parents, teachers, and faculties. PIO-LDN
