The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the Provincial Health Office in partnership with the National Nutrition Council holds the 45th Nutrition Month Culmination in Mindanao Civic Center Hotel-Conference Hall, Sagadan, Municipality of Tubod on July 31, 2019.

Barangay Nutrition Scholars/Barangay Health Workers together with the Rural Health Unit Officers, Chairman on Committee on Health of the Sangguniang Bayan, Presidents of the Association of Barangay Council, and the heads of concern offices of the Provincial Government convene to hear and help contribute in disseminating information to promote consuming healthy foods and regular exercise or physical activities to attain healthy mind and body within their respective communities through the theme, “Kumain nang wasto at maging aktibo…push natin ‘to!” (Eat healthy and do physical activity…let’s push this!).

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member and Committee Chairman on Health, Honorable Harris U. Ali, expressed that the Legislative Body of the Provincial Government strongly supports the advocacies of the Provincial Chief Executive particularly programs promoting the health of the people.

“We in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan actively supports the legacy programs of Governor Angging especially the programs that give priority to the well-being of our children and provide funds for efficient and effective implementation in our communities.”

Honorable Board Member Ali reminds participants of the importance of the first 1000 days in a persons mental and physical development. He also narrated that our neighboring countries have already seen the effects of the said program as their children after 16 years are now exhibiting the expected result as shown in their physical feature and mental abilities.

Dr. Melania A. Untao, the Provincial Health Officer and Provincial Nutrition Action Officer, thanked Governor Angging for the unwavering support extended to her office in implementing various health programs for the welfare of the constituents of the Province of Lanao del Norte.

In addition, Dr. Untao said, “One way of addressing Malnutrition is to regularly use Iodized Salt. But not all iodized salt that we see in the market, only those with the word FORTIFIED and accepted by the Department of Health.” PIO-LDN
