Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo formally welcomes the participants of the “Provincial Cascading and Validation of Needs and Programs, Projects and Activities Workshop for Executive Order No. 70 and the Convergence Areas for Peace and Development,” held at Horizon Resort, Municipality of Baroy, Province of Lanao del Norte on May 31, 2019.

Executive Order No. 70 – Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework.

The Provincial Chief Executive appealed to the Municipal and Barangay Officials to be proactive in embracing the effort of the National Government to end insurgencies, internal disturbances and tensions, and other armed conflicts and threats in their respective areas of responsibilities to pave way in bringing in economic development, efficient delivery of basic services and social packages for the people.

“Let us treasure the trust that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has given to us. Let us not make this opportunity go into waste. We will do our part as elected officials to show our support by committing ourselves to the programs initiated by the President in making our lives peaceful and prosperous. Remember we are here not to serve ourselves, we are elected because the people trust us and that we can perform what we have promised in providing them the necessary needs to uplift their lives which includes sustainable security and peace in the province.”

Major General T Ancan, Commander of the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division, was also at the event to express the strong commitment of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to support implementation E.O. 70 and intensify their campaign to engage with the civilian populace in partnership with the national government agencies, local government units and various sectors of civil society.

Regional Development Council 10, Vice Chairperson and National Economic and Development Authority 10, Regional Director Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño presented the Rationale and Objective of the activity.

Director Cariño urged all participants, especially the elected officials to comply with the E.O. 70 not only because the President mandates it but also because it is the right thing to do to achieve peace and prosperous community for the people of the Province of Lanao del Norte and the country as a whole.

National Intelligence Coordinating Agency 10, Director Manuel M. Orduña was also present at the event along with Brigadier General Ezra James P Enrqiuez, Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade and Major General Franco Nemesio M Gacal, and PNP Provincial Director, Police Colonel Rene Solidarios.
